I do not have an instruction manual. How can I download one. If I had the manual, does Sweet Rascal think that I would not use it.

HI,

All you have to do is just connect your keyboard to a USB port and it will work.If you have a driver cd with your keyboard then make sure you install it first on your PC and then connect your keyboard.

Removing the software and reinstalling it using a "clean boot" may
resolve the symptoms you are experiencing. Booting clean is a way to
eliminate programs from conflicting with installation of software.

    1. Download the latest version of the software for your OS from the manufacturer's website.
    2. Open the Windows Control Panel.
    3. Open the Add / Remove Programs window.
    4.
Locate the listing for the keyboard/mouse software and remove it. When
prompted to remove the keyboard/mouse drivers files, click Yes.

The following is the procedure for a 'clean boot' in Windows XP:

    1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG --> Click OK
    2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
    3. Uncheck Process SYSTEM.INI file
    4. Uncheck Process WIN.INI file
    5. Uncheck Load Startup Items
    6. Click on the Services tab
    7. At the bottom, check Hide All Microsoft Services
    8. Uncheck all boxes in the window or click the button labeled Disable All
    6. Click OK
    7. Click Restart

After restarting, reinstall the downloaded software. Next, do the following:

    1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG--> Click OK
    2. Replace checkmarks in the items that you previously removed them from.
    3. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
    4. Click OK
    5. Click YES, when asked to restart your computer

Hopefully, you should not have any problem now.

    thank you

dont forget to accept the solution if you are ok with it.

Casio te8000f wont boot up

That's unusual. I have had it many times and it has always needed a RAM clear. It's possible that your keyboard has a problem. Also, make sure the JF key is the second from the left at the top of the raised keys. You need to hold it for a few seconds. Make sure you are powering on at the wall while holding it. The battery should be a 3 volt Lithium Pentoxide type so make sure there is 3v on the battery (around 4v when charging with power on). They are an expensive cash register so probably worth going further if you are technical. You could try taking the backing plate off of the raised key side of the keyboard and make sure there is no spillage in the membrane in the keyboard.

I'd try to change the USB port where the receiver is connected. If this "new" port was not used yet, the windows will (re)install the drivers to make the device works in the USB port. If this doesnt work, provide us more detais (model of keyboard, e.g.)

Need a manual w/directions to use my Microsoft Natural Erg 4000

There's really no solution but no use in proceeding to look for documentation that isn't available. Thanks tho. There isn't a manual. There's a limited help section for programming some keys in the control panel/keyboard file or thru the start, programs, keyboard, etc. so with the help of a member here I realized I'm just going to have to make due with what Microsoft has provided. I doubt if I'll ever again try to get help from Microsoft's help or support web sites. It's a large exercise in futility & frustration. Guess they can't afford (he he he he) to offer better or personal support for their products anymore, much less free. I actually live only about half an hour from their headquarters, but can't reach a human for the life of me. Sorry, I digress, anyway, thanks to the person who did respond quickly & several times while trying to help me with this.

Hi
The best I could find was the product page for the keyboard. Otherwise you'll need to either contact the people who you bought it off or use a general guide for replacing keyboard such as this one. It does have laptop - specific instructions for some Gateway laptops - hopefully you'll hit lucky!

You could try searching specifically for "(your laptop make & model number) keyboard replacement guide" if the above link does not work. Google usually has the answers! Alternatively if you provide me with the model number I could have a look around for you.

Hope this helps and good luck!
