Question about Bosch Nexxt WTMC 3300 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Dryer continues to spin periodically after the clothes are dry - doesn't shut off completely

I think it may be the wrinkle gard that keeps the dryer running once every hour if you do not shut the dryer off imediately after the clothes are dry. I have been told there is a way to shut this option off but I can't find it in the manual that accompanied my dryer. Could you please help me and give me directions to do this.

Yvonne sorry but that isn't a feature you are able to turn off. It happens that the buzzer goes off as well that people don't like. Only the top of the line model allows the buzzer to be turned off. The wrinkle guard is just that, to help prevent wrinkles.

Kenmore dryer 90 series

Since no model number was given, check to see if you have a setting commonly noted as "wrinkle guard", "wrinkle shield", "press care" or something to that affect. Those settings will run the dryer for as much as 90 min after a completed drying cycle to prevent wrinkles in clothing, allowing you time to remove the cloths after a dry cycle if you are busy. Wrinkled clothes

My wife, who runs "dryer central", stops the dryer short of complete drying and hangs the clothes that are easily wrinkled.
You may also have the heat set too high, or the time set too long, causing the problem.
Try experimenting.
Be blessed.

After dryer shuts off, timer continues to run. Kenmore model #110.86181810, part # I think is 692032 and sears says it is no longer in stock. Anyone still have one?

I assume you're talking about the buzzer. Many high end dryers do that until you remove the clothes. heated clothes can set wrinkles if kept in the same position for a long time. it's a feature, not a problem, unless it keeps buzzing after you remove the dried clothes!

No lint on filter? Where is it all going? Checked exhaust vent bought a vacuum attachment and there is no lint. Twice and sometimes triple the drying time! Help!

Instructions
  1. Dryer Does Not Run
    • 1 Close the door firmly. The dryer will not operate if the door is not completely closed.
    • 2 Press the "Start" button firmly or push the knob in to start the dryer.
    • 3 Turn the dial past the "Off" position and away from "Wrinkle Prevent." The dryer will not start in the "Off" or "Wrinkle Prevent" position.
    Long Drying Times
    • 4 Remove the lint screen. Clean it and replace it.
    • 5 Check the temperature of the room. The dryer will not operate properly in temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • 6 Inspect the area around the dryer. It requires at least 1-inch clearance on the front and sides of the dryer. A 5-inch clearance is needed on the back of the dryer. Move the dryer, if needed.
    • 7 Separate large loads and do not use an air dry cycle.
    Lint, Stains and Wrinkles
    • 8 Clean the lint screen before drying each load of clothes to prevent lint buildup on clothing.
    • 9 Add fabric softener sheets before starting a drying cycle. If the sheets are added after the load has partially dried, they can leave stains on the clothing.
    • 10 Dry small loads and remove clothing as soon as the drying cycle completes to prevent wrinkling.
    Dryer is Noisy
    • 11 Check the inside of the dryer for loose change, buttons or other items. Empty the pockets on clothing before drying.
    • 12 Separate items that are knotted together and restart the load. Knotted or balled up clothing will bounce and make the dryer vibrate.
    • 13 Level the dryer. Turn the leveling legs on the front of the dryer clockwise or counter-clockwise until the dryer is level. Turning the legs clockwise will lower the dryer. Turning the legs counter-clockwise will raise the dryer.

Amana electric dryer timer doesn't advance during

If this is one of the electronic models: Clean the sensor strips located inside the drying area. As wet clothes rub against these the control monitors the resistance changes and knows the clothes are still wet therefore it continues to operate. When buildup from dryer sheets and fab softener get on them strips a barrier is formed that repels dampness. Therefore the control does not know the clothes are wet and goes to the end thinking all is Kosher. Clean them sensor strips with Windex and party on!

My dryer will not shut down or advance when it is in the Automatic Perm. Press mode. Diagnosed with faulty timer, replaced yesterday for ~$300 and the dryer ran all night long. Is there a "dryness sensor"...

I have found that the permanent press cycle will continue to roll the clothes around on a rest and dry schedule until you take the clothes out and manually shut off the dryer. The idea seems to be to keep the clothes from wrinkling when sitting in a still dryer. I think that this is the way it was meant to work, but I am no expert, just another owner of a Fisher Paykel dryer.

Many of your better dryers have an anti-wrinkle function. When a load is complete if you don't take care of it, every little while the dryer will turn on for a few minutes to fluff the clothes and beep to remind you.

Dryer won't shut off automatically

Hi,
If your dryer seems to run forever, it could be because of a clogged vent or internal ductwork. Your dryer may have an automatic cycle that turns off the dryer when the clothes are dry. It does this with a special thermostat or moisture-sensing system.

Normally, this is what happens during an automatic cycle: The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a pre-set temperature--say 135 degrees. When the dryer reaches the pre-set temperature, the thermostat tells the timer to begin advancing. (If there's a moisture sensor, the timer advances only if the moisture content of the clothing is low enough.) The timer advances until the interior cools, then the thermostat tells the timer to stop advancing, and tells the dryer to start heating again. This cycle continues until the clothes are dry. But if the vent is clogged, the dryer may never reach the proper operating temperature, so it doesn't send the signal to the timer and the dryer continues to run indefinitely, even if the clothes are completely dry. To fix the problem, clean the vent and/or internal ductwork.
Thank you!
