I have a BJC 2110 that just stopped printing. When I try to print something, there is a short pause and then I get a message 'document failed to print'. I have tried working with the troubleshooter installed on my computer with no results. I have Windows XP, and no previous problems with the printer. Would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks.

Re: My printer suddenly stopped working.
Hello, Try to Uninstall your printer from Add or Remove programs Menu in Control panel and then reinstall it again..Also you can try Hard Reset which is "unplugg your Printer for 10 minutes and then connect it again"..Hope this helps you..
Please post back for how things turned or for further assistance!..Thank you..

I have similar problem. Print head won't print, then I clean with alcohol, and get rid of old ink inside. But then head seems to just shut down. I have several print heads and printers that have plenty of ink, but head won't work. I refuse to think the print head will break so easily. I used my BJC 85 for YEARS with no problem whatsoever, and suddenly, since last winter, I have 4 printers that have stopped printing.
I usually end up just buying another used printer on ebay until that one stops printing.
Initially, pls clean the encoder strip. This would be the clear narrow but long plastic strip with bar like markings similar to barcodes. The markings and the clear space in between tells the print heads its position. it there is a smear or ink mark, the head would assume that it has reach the end and therefore stop. it would be similar to the image below.
