Are there some instructions on how did you install them?..it should just be the reverse. in some units, they have small screws at the sides that secures the unit from its shell.

start with the face cover, remove it if you can. some units have a scew at the middle of the face cover before you pull out the filter. if you were able to pull the face cover off, then try to pull the unit and the shell should be left behind still attached to the wall. if this is not the case, then you should pull the whole unit including the shell or casing as others called them.
look for some securing screws or bolts that hold the housing. then if you were able to bring down the whole unit, start removing all the screws all around the unit in order to remove the housing and you can see the dirt on the drainage .

i hope i was able to solve you problem..

pls rate me

tnx for using fixya.

Leaking water onto floor

The evap tray is possibly the source of the problem.
Pull the unit out from the wall so you can use a flashlight to look under the back to determine where the water is coming from.
Once you know the source of the problem you can attend to the fix.

Just replaced a delta Asse 1016 valve cartridge and the unit is leaking behind it like maybe the copper pipe what should I do?

If the copper pipe is indeed leaking, you'll probably need to open the wall to fix it. Sometimes you can open the wall in back of the tile, in the adjoining room. Make sure this is the issue before you start this process.

This year had a problem with my upstairs a/c leaking? i put the temp up and cleaned the filters? seems to have stopped why is this happening

Condensate drain line is clogged up.These are not easy to get to and require removing the inside unit from the wall. Best to have a professional do this. They may have to pull the refrigerant out of the system and totally remove the inside unit. This is a big job. Good luck.

Thru the wall air conditioner is leaking droplets of water from between the frame and the body

Your unit should be pulled from the wall and cleaned. Also Check with a level that through the wall sleeve that the unit sits in has a slight lean towards the outside and not inside.

Cold air leaks in around the unit while it is not running. How can I insulate the air intake so that this does not happen?

Is this unit tight against the wall?
Can it be pulled away from the wall, without too much difficulty?
You need to be sure the leak is outside of the flue pipe going thru the wall to the outside.--
Or is it leaking in thru the inside?

If the leakage is due to a gap between the flue pipe and the hole thru the wall, then attention needs to be given to the flashing, and the air tight seal at the outside of the penetration...
Was a metal collar installed-- TIGHTLY against the flue pipe?
How was the needed air space (for fire prevention) made between the HOT flue pipe, and the framing materials?-- Then outside of that, how was the gap insulated?- (Non burnable-- like fiberglass can be used-- but it all depends upon the outer and then inner METAL seal rings being tight.)

Tell us more about where you are feeling the drafts..

Have the fridge pulled out and check behind it. I had same model and it was leaking into my walls/floor and caused thousands of dollars in damage to my kitchen. BLACK MOLS Covered my walls/cabinets and made me sick. Please be very careful with this excess water coming from this model. GE should recall it but will not unless forced. Not Cool.

Wall a/c is leaking water down log wall and puddling on floor.

When you sealed the holes outside, you trapped the water inside. The unit is designed to let the water run to the bottom of the pan and then go out the holes outside. Try unplugging one of them and see if that fixes the problem. Hope this helps.

GE model TFX24FA side by side

Look in he back of the freezer section, if you see ice on the back wall then I would suggest defrosting the whole unit overnight and restarting to see if this makes a difference to the fridge section. If it does then you have a problem with the defrost cycle of the unit, if it doesnt then you may have a fan gone. We normally suggest defrosting first in case a door got left ajar. However if it does pull back down you will need to keep a close eye on the unit for several weeks. Hope this helps.
