Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

I have my setting on Warm wash/cold rinse. In the winter, I get cool wash/cold rinse but in the summer I get warm wash/cold rinse. This is just the opposite of what I want and this has done this since day one of the purchase. Even at my last residence it did it. Why does this happen.

The hot water solenoid valve -
the hot water hose -
the filter screen in the tap /hose connector -

one of the above is likely blocked or restricted
check them in reverse order, the most likely and easiest is last
turn the water off before disconnecting any hoses to check, makes a mess

EW1200 is rinsing in hot water how do we change that

Hot wash, hot rinse is for 'whites'. Cold wash, cold rinse is for 'colors'. Warm wash, cold or warm rinse is for 'permanent press'. Check your settings to see if you have these options. Double check the hoses, put the machine on cold fill and feel the hoses.
Has someone worked on the machine and possibly put the wires on the solenoids wrong? Easy mistake to make.

Cold fill washing machines

If your washer is the type that all rinses are in cold water only this would make sense that in the winter months when the water is at it's coldest the clothes will feel cold after the spin cycle.
If your washer has a warm rinse cycle and when you select the warm rinse option the clothes feel cold after the spin, then maybe the hot water supply line is plugged.I recommend disconnecting the hot water hose at the back of the washer and check the screen that is at the fill valve on the washer and make sure it isn't clogged with sediment or calcium build up or any other foreign material that would keep the hot water from entering the washer. If all is well there, suspect either the water temp selector switch or the hot water fill valve. Good luck !

Our washing machine is putting out hot water when the temprature setting is on cold ...and cold water when it is on hot. All rinses are hot. What part could be bad?

The water temperature is incorrect The temperature of the incoming water determines the temperature of the water in your washer. You get either hot, cold, or a mix of the hot and cold water that's currently available to the machine. So if the cold water that enters the machine is very cold--or if the hot water entering the machine is very hot--the warm water is affected. If you live in a Northern climate, unless you adjust the hot and cold water taps that supply water to your washer, the warm water supplied to your washer is usually hotter during the summer months and colder during the winter months.

Can't get anything but warm of hot water

If you set the washer for cold wash with a cold rinse, no hot or warm should enter the machine. If any hot or warm enters machine on cold / cold, check to see if the hot and cold hoses are hooked up correctly, and not reversed.

No water enters on rinse cycle

I was partially wrong on my diagnosis. No cold water enters on either the wash or the rinse cycles. I also heard odd noises from the inlet valves. I realized the cold water valve was not opening. I've ordered the mixing valve and plan to replace it as soon as it comes in.

ZANUSSI ZWD162701 washing always comes out cold - WHY?

Washers are meant to rinse in cold water, so clothes should come out cold.
If you are not sure if it is getting hot, then select a very hot wash, and feel the door glass periodically, it should gradually get hotter, if it does not , then it is washing in cold water only.
This could mean that the heater element has gone.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

The temerature settings for washer are wrong. I sporadically get very hot on cold. cool on warm. hot on cool. etc.. It is supposed to be an all cold rinses wahers

if this is a machine with hot and cold hoses connected, check they are the right way round. don't rely on what your hose plumbing says.
to check, put on rinse and if hot water flows in, then hoses are the wrong way round
