Question about Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT Top Load Washer
Does anyone know how to fix this? I get F1 error in the start and in the middle of the cycle, have to stand there and push cancel and start button about 15 time before it will finally start the load. Any help would be great. Thanks, Litisha
I contacted whirlpool... they sent a repair man.. and they fixed the problem for FREE and sent a new computer for the machine.. they recognize there is a problem but it is not a recall

Sad to say i had this exact same problem. Decided on calling Sears for an estimate. Technician arrived just this morning and said the Main Control Board is bad. Need a new one now and he said it was #372.00!!! not happy at all... so im looking for other options to purchase the control board at a cheaper rate since my warranty is not valid any longer.

Possible solution involving disassembly... This worked for me hopefully it works for you.
Just wrote a step by step but could not post.. .so here's my last attempt
After a technician replaced the electronic lock, then a leak in the water pump, we got an F1 error on the Cabrio WTW6600SW0. Some research explained that the F1 problem is a Controler Unit problem. We were going to toss the washer, so with nothing to lose I performed the following steps which solved the F1 issue for me.
[Note if washer under warranty any tampering will void the warranty]
1) Turn off and unplug the washer.
2) Remove the Control Panel housing assembly
(Control Panel parts 9 and 14 of the below link
Try not to touch any of the electronic components, since you can give it a static shock that can destroy the electonics.
3) Locate the clear tube on the right side facing the washer and unplug the tube from the Control Unit (you can handle the plastic but avoid touching the electrical parts). Did not see it in the above link but closest to plug #21 (Harness, Thermistor). I believe this is a water control leveler that uses air pressure to signal the height of the water level.
4) **** the air out of the tube and squeeze the tube to trap the air suction. You do not have to turn blue sucking the air out just a little, also you do not have to squeeze the very edge of the tube. A couple of inches away from the end will do.
5) Replace the tube without letting out the air suction.
6) Reassembly the Control Panel housing assembly.
After doing this I had no more F1 error.

Tips for a great answer:
Good Morning Monica, thank you for your post!
Based off what you have described your Frigidaire range is providing you with an error code of F1 after you started a self-cleaning. The error code "F1" stands for a runaway temperature (overheating). This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by disconnecting from your oven for ten minutes. If you continue to have issues with the F1 error code I would recommend having a professional technician out to your home for proper diagnosis and replacement of any electrical components. Hopefully this information has been helpful. -Matt
