Question about IBM Wheelwriter 30 Typewriter

1 Answer

IBM Wheelwriter 6 reprint key

I have an IBM Wheelwriter 6 which I use without the monitor, just as a typewriter. Does it have a reprint key? I had an IBM Wheelwriter 10 Series II that had a reprint key on the MAR REL key. RePRT was in green but I can not find one on the 6. I had to trade typewriters with the secretary because she could not figure out how to use this one.
I have several form, with little boxes to be filled in and I would love to be able to use the reprint key.

Thanks

To play hold play and type address.

WILL THIS TYPEWRITER STORE TEXT FOR LETTERING OR ENVELOPE. TO REPRINT ON DEMAND.

The only reprint is the Reprint key on the top left, but it will only reprint what you have just typed. For an addressable memory you need a WW 5, 6 or a model with save and play keys on the L. of keyboard.

The WW1000 does not have an addressable memory. The reprint key only allows you towhat has last been typed. To get an addressable memory there will be 3 keys on the left that say save, play and delete.

How do I use the RePrint or Memory Function?

You didn't give the model of the WW, if it only has a reprint it is not suitable for this application as it will only retype what has just been typed. You will need a WW with a fully addressable memory (store, play and delete keys)

Some personal WW have a reprint feature top L. hand key (RE -PRT) in green. This will only reprint what you have just typed. To get a true memory you need a WW 5.6.30,etc.
