Hello,

It sounds like maybe a memory issue. I would suggest running a test on the ram with DocMemory found at http://simmtester.com/page/products/doc/SendDocMemory.asp?ver=3.11_beta

You may need to register at this site in order to download the program. The registration is free. I have used this program many times and it seems to be a pretty trustworthy program.

You can review the Users Guide at http://www.simmtester.com/page/products/doc/docguide.pdf

Thanks

I have a compaque with xp media center like this and somebody else entered the wrong program and installed windows xp from 2001. This system caused it to crash and I NEED some recovery disks to replace...

I found the codes within the computer and isolated its parameters overwriting the program and separated the second brain. After doing this I had some old restore disks to preform a software transfer. In doing so my computer came out to a factory style when we first bought the computer. Reformating is what I prefored afterwards. Now it is not stuck in the boot screen anymore and i have no more problems like blue screen of death when my computer has an error or failure to complete a task.

Do you know where I can find a recovery disc for an HP 873n Media Center PC? I called hp and they don't have one.

Hi,
You are correct HP do not provide the recovery disks for this Media Center anymore.

I've just about searched the net for anyone who may have recovery CD's for sale but no no avail.

If you can still get into the operating system use HP Backup and Recovery Manager, its quick and user-friendly. To run, simply go to All Programs > HP Backup & Recovery > HP Backup and Recovery Manager. With HP Backup & Recovery Manager, file restoration is easy. To recover a deleted file, simply use the Restore Wizard.

For a full system restoration, press the F11 key during boot up and then select "Recover PC" from the menu if there is a recovery partition available (sometimes you have to hold down Ctrl and hit the F11 key on boot up)

Other than that you may have to purchase a Windows XP or Windows XP Media Center installation CD from a reputable store like PC World for example.

Good luck.

PC constantly reboots after external HD error

put in your recovery disc and follow the instructions on it, you may need to reinstall the drivers and os....i just worked on a laptop with media center and thats what needed to be done, it was the same with the rebooting and video stuff, make sure not to activate the mcafee antivirus if it's out of date or subscription is up, it will not allow your puter to run properly, the other thing i discovered with that...hope this helps hun....shia

Major HP crash

i think you got the wrong disks man, nothing to do with the motherboard.

a clean installation

it is recommended to this service at least
once every 8 months, it wipes all your hard
drive from data, programs, bugs, errors and viruses
this will 100% solve your problem guaranteed.

for xp, insert the xp installation disk
restart the computer and a message will
come up asking to press any key to boot
from cd. once you do that "i mean you press a key"
then a blue screen will load then asks you
to press Enter to install xp.

1. press enter
2. select the partion and press enter
3. select continue "it warns you to delete files"
4. select format "quick"
5. now let it do the rest and follow instructions
6. when the installation is finished you'll notice
its like new again, some computers will need
drivers which you can get from manufacturer
website. download and install them.

that's it but for a detailed information click here

Looks like you've tried a lot. Try this stuff.

1) Try F11 instead.
2) Dunno. Corruption?
3) chkdsk /f
4) Microsoft EULAs are much less crackable than their software, according to BitTorrent.
