How fix computer monitor stuck in low resolution

If your resolution is too low, you can change that by clicking on the Start button and then clicking on Control Panel. From the Control Panel window, click on Adjust screen resolution from beneath the Appearance and Personalization section. From the Resolution drop-down, select the highest resolution by moving the slider to the top. Your resolution should be just fine now.

To change your font size, go back to Control Panel, search for "window color" in the search box, and then click on Change window colors and metrics". You can adjust font sizes from here.

Text too small

This can be changed from display settings if you are talking about the text on the desktop ..Just click right on the desktop ..choose properties and select the last in the right ...settings ..here you can select a smaller resolution ..(best for 17 inc is 10024 /768 )and click apply and OK ..
if you do not want to change the resolution but need larger icons and text ..just select on the same window advanced..and you will have the possibility to increase the icon and text size with the percent you want ...After that click apply and OK to exit ..It may ask to restart for to apply the changes..
if you are talking about the writing in the browser..you can zoom it by changing resolution ..or by pressing down the ctrl button and scroll up or down ..
Also all text size can be selected manually for each location if you click right on desktop and in the window select appearance (second in the right 0 and advanced..This advanced feature will allow you to select the size color and font size for each item ...one by one ..icons...space between them ..for title and menu bars..etc.
But , I suggest not to mess with that ..cause you may not be able to manage it well ..just engage a smaller resolution and will solve the issue for the writing .

My screen of computer is so big the contents are enlarged my kid has pressed some buttons pls help

Hi nayyarshelly,

I like to help you regarding your concern having big Icons on your desktop, you mentioned that your kid accidentally pressed something on the machine that made everything big, See steps below to changes the Icons or your systems desktop settings.

  • First the system should be turned ON and logged in to Windows, I am assuming that you have Windows7 on your computer.
  • On the keyboard Hold down the CTRL button while holding down the CTRL key on the mouse scroll, scroll backwards this should make things smaller again.
  • If the screen on the Internet is also big do the same thing while your Internet Explorer is open this should change the size of the text / pictures anything on the Internet explorer.
  • But if the above does a different function from what you are experiencing then I believe that you are experiencing some changes in the resolution of the screen if everything is Enlarged.
  • Click on Start then on the search bar type in display, a list will show look for Display then click on it to open up the Display window then click on Adjust resolution.
  • The resolution on your screen depends on how big the LCD screen is
  • On the Resolution page you can pretty much check each resolution on the list that will be better to you, then click on Apply lower right then OK to apply settings on this page.
I hope that this will be of help regarding your concern.

Have a nice day,

How do I make my font and text size bigger?

If you want to make font and text larger in a Word document, just look at the taskbar and click font pull-down window (usually the default is Times Roman) and pick whatever font you want, then click the pull-down window (usually the default is 12) and pick a larger size.
Or you need to make a display adjustment. Click Start, Click Control Panel, Click Personalization, click Display Settings, choose Resolution up or down which will adjust icon and font size on your computer.
Or click start, Control Panel, Personalization then:
  • In the left pane, click Adjust font size (DPI). If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • In the DPI Scaling dialog box, do one of the following:

    • To increase the size of text and other items on the screen, click Larger scale (120 DPI)-make text more readable, and then click OK.

    • To decrease the size of text and other items on the screen, click Default scale (96 DPI)-fit more information, and then click OK.

To see the changes, close all of your programs, and then restart Windows.

Desktop screen saver was not full screensize, so i set to maximum setting 200% and now the whole thing is too big and desktop icons way too big to work with, how can I get into system to reset or...

It sounds like you changed your desktop background resolution settings and not the screensaver. Right-click on your desktop on any clear area that doesnt have an icon and if this is WinXP select properties, or if Vista select personalize. Select the settings tab and you should see a screen resolution adjustment slider that will allow you to change your screen rsolution which intur affects the size of all your icons etc. Select the size that suits you. 1080 X 786 is a good place to start. You're probably set to 800 X 600 right now.

Desktop icons. i installed win7 transformation pack and now it has large desktop icons..how to turn it into classic icons?

    1. right mouse click on the desktop
    2. select properties
    3. click the settings tab
    4. after slide the resolution to 1024 x 768.
    5. If this is too small, then change it until you are satisfied with the screen resolution.

click advanced. Under general, you'll see DPI settings if they have changed, set them back to 96. If thats not the problem, go to appearance, advanced, then icons. Set the icon size to 32, and the font to 8. If not, increase the resolution by going to settings and moving the slider.

Please don't forget to rate... :-)
