Itunes does not recognize my itouch please help

Hi! I recently downloaded the 2.0 software for my itouch and the newest version of itunes. Now itunes does not recognize my itouch only when I hold the sleep button and power button and do a full restore. As soon as I unplug my itouch it will not be recognized again and it freezes itunes. Please help before I run my itouch over with my car :(

iPod is recognised by laptop but not by desktop. Does not charge, does not get recognised by iTunes

  • Anonymous Jul 26, 2008

I downloaded the new 2.0 software, but it never displayed in itunes or sync to my itouch. It was downloaded to my computer, and appeared in the start/ all programs. I had to replace the ipod after I tried a restore, and it wouldn't power up. I deleted all Apple software from my computer, and re-installed before syncing replacement ipod. Unfortuantely I used my former member id so the new software appeared in itunes as an update. I didn't download it. Now my replacement ipod touch is quitting applications, and going back to the main screen.

Okay well the only way you can resolve your problem is by taking your iPod to your local Apple store they should do a swap. Sounds like there is a firmware fault.

I also had the same problem after downloading the new software. I received a replacement ipod, and made sure the 2.0 software was deleted from my computer before synching it to itunes. Now my replacement ipod is quitting applications & going back to the main screen.

Brought 64GB I touch, instald the latest i-tunes on my laptop and i can not sync any music or movies. I have even tried to to intal the latest program for the i touch, but still fails. can anybody help!...

Un-install and re-install iTunes because this isn't an update problem. This is a software problem. Please try un-installing iTunes and installings the newest iTunes for your 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. Make sure it is the right version for your computer.

Hope this helps ^^. Please dont forget to rate, Thanks

My itouch is locked, due to siblings constantly trying to figure out my password. Now when I plug it into itunes, it will not recognize it, but I can not get the screen to put the password in

Hi! It seems that you need to restore your iPod to Factory settings for which follow the instructions as undere--- 1. Ensure that you have an active Internet connection as new versions of iTunes and iPod Software may need to be downloaded to your computer. 2. Download and install the latest version of iTunes if you do not already have it installed. 3. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod. 4. After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes. 5. Select your iPod in the Source panel and you will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows. 6. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are: Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod. Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available. Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software available. Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software available. 8. If you are using a Mac, a message will appear prompting you to enter an administrator?s name and password. 9. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will present one of two messages on screen with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring. Restore Instruction 1: Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models). Restore Instruction 2: Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models). 10. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off. 11. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time. Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance. Thanks Rylee

Can't sync ipod touch

If you haven't already, Uninstall your itunes and download a clean version.
install the clean version of itunes and try your ipod again.
you can get a clean version at www.apple.com/itunes/

It appears your install is corrupt.
also have you updated your touch recently.
if it is jailbroken you should be able to update it to a newer version.
If your version is to old, it maynot be compatible with the newer versions of itunes.
They are constantly trying to thwart the jailbreak and unlocked ipod and iphones.

Check your version and update to something newer if the re-install of itunes doesn't help.

Itouch unlock password

if you do not know your passcode then make sure it is plugged in 2 the cp and make sure the itouch is on the screen where it says enter passcode. then you hold the power and home button at the same time until the itouch completely turns off and then you keep on holding both buttons until the apple logo again. and after that appears, you let go of the power button but you keep holding the home button until the itouch says its connected to itunes. and then you are allowed to access it on itunes. then you need to restore it and it will restore ur hole ipod and there will not be a passcode anymore
