My Panasonic Lumix TZ5 died after apparent exposure to drinking water several days ago. It was turned off with battery installed and in a leather carrying case which was soaked. I removed the battery and card but it will not turn on.

Greetings,

There is high probability that the internals got wet too.
If you have the tools to open the cam, you can try to inspect if there a need to dry up inside.

Else, go to the nearest camera shop and have it checked thoroughly.

Hi,

The only way to fix this problem is to get it repaired. The water has entered into your camera and it is possible that motherboard inside has been burnt or there is still some water inside. you can try one home remedy.Take you camera apart and then blow a compressed air or you can use a hair dryer to dry water inside.

    Polish the terminals with
a dry cloth and make sure the terminals are clean. If the terminals are
covered with oil from your skin or similar matter, this may cause poor
contact and power may not be fully supplied to the camera.

    Also,
polish the battery charger terminals with a dry cloth before charging
the battery. If the terminals are covered with oil from your skin or
similar matter, this may cause poor contact and the battery may not be
    fully charged.

If the lens does not extend then it is possible that it has become
jammed. Sometimes this can cause the camera to sense an error and shut
itself down immediately after powering on.

    There are other
explanations for the behavior, but if the lens does not move this is
the most likely cause. If the lens does extend but then the camera
shuts right back off it is possible that an inner component such as the
focusing element is not functioning properly.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 able to download to ipod

Not directly. You can download the pictures to a computer, then upload them to your iPod. If you connect the iPod and the camera or its memory card, you can transfer the pictures from one to the other without storing them on the computer.

Tz5 video freezes on pc

The Lumix Tz5 records in .MOV format, which isn't compatible with Windows Media Player. You will have to download Apple's Quicktime player. You can get it here: http://www.apple.com/uk/quicktime/download/

Of course. I'm assuming you're not already using it.

8 month old tz5 doesn't want to focus any more. Camera says to switch off and then on again, but doesn't help. Anyone help..?

Hi!
It sounds like the focus is stuck. Could be sand, dirt or something like that. I repaired a TZ5 with this problem a couple of days ago. You should contact your local Panasonic service center or other local camera service center. This is a hardware problem, not software, so I'm afraid changing setting and stuff like that won't help.

I hope this helps!

Camera got damp and now no power.

Camera may not be completely dry if you are still in a moist rich environment. If you have access, try using a blow dryer. (ON LOW SETTING as to not melt anything!)
