Question about GE Energy Star WCVH6260F Front Load Washer

Not agitating or spinning

We had a power failure last week and since the washer is not working correctly. At first it just didn't seem to be spinning correctly, now it isn't even agitating during the wash cycle. The clothes just sit there while water pours in and drains out. I have cleaned out the drain filter, checked all hoses, reset the machine(turned off circuit breaker for 30sec)and it still isn't working. Any suggestions? I assume the power failure fried something, was wondering if anyone knew what it may be so I can replace it.

You may have read about the "filter" at the bottom front of the washer, behind the lower panel (held on by 3 screws)...

Just go ahead and open it up, ( I used a large baking pan to catch the water) and then you will be AMAZED at the amount of lint, tape, coins, rocks, etc - that are stuck in there!

Clean it out, and then put it back in - in the correct alignment - and do a new load of wash.

I think it is the main problem for many of the related postings.

Good luck.

Have the same problem. Did everything, cleaned the drains, unplugged and let the memory erase, even did the trouble shooting cycle. Got an error indicating hoses were plugged but it was an old code and after clearing it, didn't get it again. So frusterating. After only 1.5 years, is something wrong with the motor?

Wwont agitate

In the circuit there is a module that works the agitation of the machine . It is an electronic device that moves the motor back and forth producing the agitation and is not connected to any other operation. Have it checked by a washing machine mechanic for failure.

Amana ALW880QAW doesn't spin and agitation is slow

winephan,
I could be the pump slowly ceazing causing the belt to slip which would give a burning smell.
Motors in those units, are well build...have a service guy in but DON"t say anything about the motor.. because they will say it because you mentioned it
I sounds like you pump

GE WASHER WJSR4160GWW Won't Agitate

Sounds like tub belt failure. Check online for model layout. If unit is belt driven, remove back panel to access internal works. Look for broken belt. Depending on setup, control system stuck on water pump. Else possible control panel failure or motor (if water pump separate).

Washer will not agitate on wash cycle

could be a belt (doubtful) or it could be the connector underneath the. if the bolt isn't tight, it could be sliding along the cutout that makes the agitator work. tip forward and check it from beneath/backside whicheverr has the easiest access to view the connections.

Maytag washer

This is similar to a problem I had after my power suddenly went out while the washer was filling with water. When the power resumed the washer would no longer run water... all other systems (agitate, drain, spin) worked fine.

A 10 minute, $113 dollar service call revealed that there was a fuse inside the front upper left area that had blown. Remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the front panel to get access to the inside.

Check it out and replace it if necessary.
