The Vtech is a child's toy, the mouse connects with a 8P8C modular connector. A standard USB mouse will not connect to the system. You will have to get a replacement from Vtech, luckily they give them away for free, you just have to pay shipping.

You can go for any USB mouse and coonect to your laptop's USB port
