A/C unit leaked out of front

I have a through wall unit, and all of a sudden we got a lot of water draining into the room from the front of the unit. The panel on the outside seems to be attached with some type of plastic plug which I cannot remove. Any tips on how to make sure the unit drains outside?

Why does our LG air conditioning unit leaks? It's inside our room and the dripping water is damaging our wooden floor.. Please help.. thanks!

The drain is stopped up or the unit is not tilted back enough to drain out the back. If the drain is stopped up sometimes you can blow it out with compressed air from the bottom of the front coil. If the unit is not tilted enough in the wall or window it cannot drain out of the proper drain hole in the back of the unit. Hope this helps you.

THE AIR CONDITIONER LEAKS WATER FROM THE FRONT OF THE UNIT.

Look for the drain line coming out of the unit typically in the bottom. Clear out this drain line with a vacuum or water hose. It should begin to drain and stop leaking.

If the leaking continues, you may have a cracked drain pan or severe drain blockage.

Water leaking into room

Angle your unit so the back is lower than the front and the water will run out the drain hole on the bottom.

A lot of water leaking out of A. C. into neighbor's window below

Place a flat piece of sheet metal or aluminum under the unit that is LONGER and Wider than the unit.....the water will drip on it and run down it and away from the building.

THERE IS A TUBE OR CHANEL FROM THE FRONT EVAPORATOR DRAIN PAN THAT RUNS TO THE BACK OF THE UNIT INTO THE CONDENSER PAN. IT IS ALWAYS ADVISABLE TO THOUROUGH LY CLEAN ALL COILS, AND DRAIN PANS AND DRAIN LINES ANUALLY. IF THAT TUBE OR CHANEL WAY GETS PLUGGED IT WILL CONSTANTLY DRIP IN THE COOL MODE.,

IF YOUR A/C IS 110V MOST ALL ARE ABOUT 5,000 - 7,000 BTU''S ALL SHOULD RUN ON A SEPERATE CIRCUIT OR NOT HAVE ANYTHING ELES PLUGED IN ON THAT CIRCUIT.

MOST ALL WINDOW UNITS HAVE THE BTU'S RATING ON THE TAG INSIDE THE UNIT. THESE SMALL UNITS REQUIRE COMPLETE REMOVAL FROM THE WINDOW OR WALL FOR CLEANING. ONLY LARGER UNITS 10,000 AND ABOVE SLIDE OUT OF THE CABINENT FROM THE FRONT.

90% OF A/C I HAVE REPAIRED IN 40+ YEARS WERE DUE TO PLUGGED DRAIN LINES A DIRTY COILS. THEY MUST BE ALL CLEAN BEFORE I COULD START TO DIAGNOSE ANY PROBLEM BECAUSE THE PRESSURES VARY IF THE COILS ARE RESTRICTED WITH DIRT, ETC.

Thru wall GE A/C

Hi, If this is a new unit I would check the filter first and make sure it is clean. Also check and make sure it is slightly tilted to the outside. If its an older unit it probably needs cleaned. Window units naturally create water in the evaporator area. The water is suppose to drain to the back of the unit to the condensing area where the slinger ring on the condenser fan blade slings it into the condenser coil making it more efficient. There is usually a drain hole to drain excess water from the back of the unit. Any dirt in the pathway of this water or the wrong tilt will cause water to build up and drip or blow out the front. Anything touching the evaporator coil allowing water to run down the obstacle into the wrong area will cause the same thing. reduced air flow will cause the evap to freeze which could also cause a water problem.

Fujitsu wall mounted air conditioner leaks into the room

Make sure the unit is level, this is very important. Check for blocked drain tube, which runs from the bottom of the drain pan under the cold coil to the outside. Clear tube with a piece of coathanger wire, be gentle.
