First check that it is not overheating due to build up of dust in the vents and the fans and heatsinks on the CPU and VGA card.

Also try booting in safe mode - press F8 repeatedly during the POST until you get a menu to "start in safe mode" or similar

A malware like virus or incompatible software, so does broken hardware may lead to computer keeps restarting. To fix your computer you can try the following steps.

Check drivers update for the device, and download and install them to erase any bugs that might exist in your version. Similarly, if the freeze only happens when using one particular application, that program might also be the root cause. Otherwise switch to step 2.

When you are working with it? Have you check for dust inside? Is it getting sufficent air flow? Can you give more info? Open Control Panel, Power Options, set to High Performance, open Advanced Power settings, set Sleep and Hibernate to Never. When not in use shut down.

Computer keeps freezing

If you havent installed any software lately or made any changes to the software/hardware, most likely the "slowness"is coming from a potential virus. Try running a virus scan if you haven't already or taking it to a staples or somewhere that offers free tune ups.

My pc keeps restarting over and over but I don't have restore disc

Hello!

There are a lot of factors why your PC is acting that way, it could be a virus infection, hardware or software problems.

Virus Infection
- if your computer is infected or the virus behavior or capability is to keep restarting your system or PC. This could be the solution, you can install a decent virus scanner and update it always to be able to detect viruses.

Software Problem
- If your Operating System is behaving badly or some system files is missing, this can cause your PC to always restarts. To fix this is to reformat your hard drive and install OS again.

Hardware Problem
- If your RAM or one of the memory installed in your PC is defective it can cause restarting also, try cleaning your RAM's or swap other RAM to be able to determine the problem.

Hope I was able to help.

I have gx 270/800 mhz system,, i need to know why it frequently restarts?

hi im josh in cebu phils may i help you?Unfortunately, this could be for any number of reasons related to software, hardware, or both. In my experience I would say this is likely a hardware issue. More specifically, bad memory or your system is overheating. (On issues like this I tend to lean towards hardware, especially if you haven?t installed or updated any software recently, - but do check for virus also) hope i helped you good luck

aw I think you have problem in hardware, software or user.. hardware means there are parts of your computer hardware that have a glitch or uncompatible, software maybe you have been virus or you installed uncompatible programs, user unproper management of computer like unproper shutdown.... that cause the system or hardware to crash....

Try booting in safe mode by pressing F8 when you turn on or restarting the computer, if a boot selection appeared select your primary hard disk then select safe mode.. after good start up in safe mode uninstalling the new software that you install if there is then restart the computer properly. if you install a new hardware try to take it out and turn on again the computer... TY
