I have a Sharp Model 1460A Microwave. It quit working while warming something up yesterday. Outlet is good. No power to unit at all. No light working, etc. Is there a fuse that I can check to see if it needs replaced? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

I have a sharp r-1460a Carousel Oven...outlet is good but there is no power...not even the clock. I want to replace the fuse first ...I have the control panel loose. where do I find the fuse?

you must be very careful as the result could end up with trip to hospital , 1) the main fuse should be fitted within the plug , 2) there are 2 other quick break fuses sited next to the transformer ,but please be very careful , if you don't know then get some one who does ,

The microwave oven has completely gone dead Sharp r-1501c. Yesterday the light was on. I went to turn the light off and to put something in the microwave and it lost all power. I've checked the outlet...

It may be the control panel. What ever you do, don't send the control panel to William Miller. He ripped me off, and I have to dispose of my microwave because he never returned my control panel.
If yours has gone dead completely, it's more cost effective just to replace it. I bought an LG to replace mine.

Sharp R-1460A Timer counts down very rapidily and no heat

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour.

Sharp microwave stopped working

Is it totally dead? No display? Or just does not cook? If it made an unusual noise before it 'died' something probably shorted out.... You need an ohm meter to troubleshoot. If the fuse is open, switches and HV circuit need to be checked before replacing fuse. Sometimes on the convection Microwaves (not just Sharp) the fuse will 'rust' and open rather than blow. Or the fuse holder can over heat and fail.

No power for microwave. model is a sharp 1460a. We miss it! Nothing works. Is there a fuse or is ther a power supply that can go bad???? The recepticles in the house works, so there is no problem there....

Ok. recepticles work, you'll have to take microwave apart make sure its unplugged before you start. Severaly screws around the cabinet of microwave when you take these out make sure you know where they go back because all of them may or may not be same size and length. once you have it apart start at where the cord enters the frame of the microwave and there should be a fuse which is the main fuse close to where the cord comes in microwave. Thats where I'd start.Take fuse out of holder take your meter turn it to ohms, looks like a horse shoe. touch each end at the same time with the leads from the meter and if the meter reads OL fuse is bad if it dont read OL the fuse is good.Get that far and if everything checks out get back in touch with me and I'll give you more info. This is more than likely your problem since not even a light wont come on or even the display.

Sharp Carousel Microwave R-1460A no power, door switch went first

You will want to replace the fuse and door switches. You will not be able to run it without replacing door switches. You do not need a new microwave. Door switches go bad, it has nothing to do with radiation.
