Hello auski,
Are you using windows Vista??..because there are many cases of incompatability of Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K16RS with Vista..but primarily try this Uninstall You DVD/CD Rom Driver From Device manger in Control Panel and then Something Should Come Back Saying Installing Drivers For Your Device Wait Till Finishes Or If It Cannot locate driver browse for location and put C:/Windows If C Drive Is your windows drive put it But The Windows Folder Is Compulsory..Hope this will solve your problem..

Please post back for how things turned or for further assistance..Thank you!..

Regards!!..

Ensure that you try both DVD-R and +R. If the DVD RW is not new try using a lens cleaner disk.
If the problem persist it can be a faulty DVD RW drive, or a problem with Windows, DVD unit should be tested on a different machine to find out.
This is a job that is better done at a repair shop.

I have burned some quick time movies to a disc i can play it on my computer but when i try and play it on my dvd it comes up unknown disc can anybody help

Hi, your DVD player might like the disks you use, + or -, maybe it doesnt recognise the format you have recorded in, you say 'Quick Time'? Look for 'DivX or XviD' on your player, this is the common DVD players that people use. When you dowmload a video image look out for XviD or DivX in the title,
If this helps you out please give me thumbs up thanks...

Can't record on dvd+rw disc what kind of disc do I need Thank You

There might be a firmware upgrade to allow this I would use DVD-R for full compatibility however DVD+R media from Philips is increasing in compatibility with most NON Philips and Sony players.

PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112D won't burn discs. G4, OS 10.4.11

So the driver is either 'malfunctioning' or it's broken...do you know what revision firmware the drive is using? Your disk authoring software may tell you this. The latest version is 1.22 which you can get by Googling PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112D firmware. Or go to the Pioneer website. I do not know how to upgrade the firmware for the recorder in MAC Land, in PC Land the firmware update is a simple executable file.

If you are running this version you can try to reflash it. Have you tried another brand of DVD disc? Some discs are less compatible than others. Try another brand of DVD

DVDs burned with Pioneer DVR-110D do not play on the same burner

Are you burning the files with a DVD+R format. Use DVD-R. Not all players will recognize DVD+R. Also, check the region that the movies are made in and see if the player can be switched to that region. Also, are you trying to burn files larger than 700 MB. If you are, in creating an iso image or copy if you are downloading the file you have to match the checksum of the original file to the downloaded one.

One way that I test the discs is to rip your burned disc back on to your computer with ImgBurn - usually if there are unreadable sectors, ImgBurn will report it.
