First you have to check *********** board settings for the RAM slots. my suggestion is: now DDR1 is available as a few and also expensive than DDR2. DDR2 is the latest avail in the market now.

but, it doesnt matter for you. you just go for 1GB RAM, its better in the future.

you have also check out the mother board, available with DDR1 and DDR2. because some system available with both type of slots.

1GB RAM is good for software and also system admin careers.

thank you.

If you have less than 512 MB of Ram that is your problem. Add more ram to increase the speed of the computer. You can get ram here. http://www.crucial.com/ Just click "Scan My System" and they will tell you what you have and what you can install with the price. Best money you will spend on a slow computer. Also runs disk cleanup and remove all it finds.

Hi all of u great experts , i have such problem when i surf the net with many tabs are opened and swetching well between them but when i need any thing from my pc like to go and open my computer the pc...

Thank you for your question.

In this instance without a more in depth explanation, my suggestion would be that you are overtaxing/burdening the RAM of the computer and/or the Processor by having many tabs open at once. This can happen frequently as the computer ages and runs down in ability to process information. I am presuming that the computer came with XP installed therefore the assumption that the computer might have some age to it. The RAM issue can be solved by buying and installing more RAM, but, XP does not recognise over 3Gb of RAM, so that is only a temporary solution.

I would suggest inquiring about a brand new computer/laptop with Win7 installed, it has more processing ability, can use larger quantities of RAM in place of trying to get your computer "back up to speed." This comes at a cost but over time would be more cost effective in money and usability.

There is more that can be said, but this is in my humble opinion only.

Kind regards

SLOW PC

If you really only have 256MB of Ram then that would be the first thing to change. I would upgrade to at least 1GB of RAM for XP. There are also many unnecessary services that are loaded on start up. You can find many tips on speeding up XP by shutting down services you don't need.

The memory increase should make a big difference.

1gb RAm

Its the common problem in RAM configuration. sometimes it cant match with the old RAM or cant match with the frequency of motherboard RAM settings,Old RAM.

so, you have to check it out the frequency of the new RAM. and also check it out your motherboard slot settings or ask your retailer about this one...?

most of the times, RAM frequency from the old one. please check it or change it another one for this..

thank you.

Takes long time to start up

For XP, it is recomended to have at least 1 GB of RAM to run it properly. It will run with a minimum of 512 MB of RAM, but very slow.

Pc wor slow

you could have a driver problem, but i would expect you to require more than 256MB of ram work along side a dualcore processor, you should have atleast 1GB ram.
