    Hello Saigua,

Thanks for reply. My OS is windows XP and my system has 2 hard drives built in the 1st is 27.9GB vaio(C:) The 2nd is 151GB vaio(D:) . Please understand im a novice user so your talk of 'SCA RAID' and 'format to XFS' is like a foreign language to me.

The problem im having is, im running out of space on the 1st hard drive so wondered how to use the 2nd one?

    Regards

Not without you saying what OS you're using, how you want to use it in applications, and how you wanted to attach it to the machine if it's not already installed.

I mean, offhand I'd say if you have 2 free bays in there, to either use those or mount that drive (along with a generally identical one) in Zalman drive coolers in the case, connect them so you can use SCA RAID 0 on them, set that RAID up, format to XFS or another choice filesystem, and start using it then.

Leave the installation finish as you don't need the mouse or anything else untill it complets.
This could take an hour or longer.

Sounds like you've got a problem with your hard drive.

An easy way to troubleshoot your system would be to (ON A WORKING COMPUTER)

Download and burn a copy of UBUNTU

Boot the non-working computer with the UBUNTU disc, check the top under PLACES to see if your hard drive and files appear.

If you need more help, let me know. There's a lot to cover.

Maybe you need to reconfigure BIOS?
Press "del" in most cases of MB's and look around the menu and you should see "Chabge to factory Default setting" or something like that.
Just reset it to factory settings. If that does not work have a look for a Live XP! CD and try booting from that.
