I have a carbon dioxide detectorin my attic that is beeping 3 beeps per second. Would that be a battery issue or maybe because I've been running my gas fireplace ( gas logs). I'm a newly separated not so young mom n now I can't sleep cause my youngest (17) is sleeping n this just happened tonight. I have 2 furnace systems in the home, if that helps. How does this alarm sound if it were to really detect co2 should I worry thru 2nite? Or can I wait til morning and call for assistance?.

If it bother you open a wind a little bit for fresh air till morning. It is telling you to change the battery. Why is it in the attic? It should be on the floor you are sleeping on for best protection.

Noisy barring motor

bradford white blower . Sir this link will provide you with a variety of sources to buy the blower. The average is far below your quoted target. Since this is a nut and bolt with a direct plug or 3 wire assembly, bradford white blower 239 40614 00 . Here lies a different price point.

If this blower is out of warranty and its been running a long time. The value of the direct replacement is a far better choice to average, although more, odds; are to revisit it sooner than later without a direct replacement.

If you need help to do this job? It can be a do-it -yourself. Make sure the unit is locked out and give it a whirl. If not? The replacement is approximately 2/3 that of your suggested quote. The ball is always in your court.

Be safe. Carbon Dioxide does not discriminate, you never hear anyone from the cemetery complaining. If this is iffy. Get a technician. The extra 1/3 may justify the worth of a life investment. Fare. Well.

Hypothesis concerning the effect of decreasing the temperature on the rate of production of gas from an alker seltzer tablet dropped in water

Reaction with water produces carbon dioxide fizz.
Baking-soda and citric acid react with water to produce sodium citrate and carbon dioxide.

If the water is below 32 degrees and in ice form, then the reaction would be slowed, and/or stopped depending if there was surface moisture on the ice.
Between 32 degrees and boiling, it might be possible that higher temperature water with more actively moving molecules could penetrate more quickly, and disperse the CO2 quicker allowing reaction to be faster.
Above boiling, when water is in steam state, which might be hard to contain and maintain, the table would probably dissolve as water vapor condenses on surface, but it would probably take longer than immersing tablet into glass of water..

Pour very hot water into one glass.
Pour very cold water into another glass.
Drop a table into each glass and see if there is noticeable difference in time before the tablet dissolves.

Had three 50-gal American Standard water heaters installed Dec. 2009 Two upstairs in attic, one downstairs at ground level. Attic location used because heaters being replaced were up there. Upstairs...

Plumber is right.
Problem is not amount of air in attic. Problem is how hot the air is.
Oxygen molecules separate apart in very hot air and pilot light goes out since there is not enough oxygen density to support combustion.

More ventilation is needed.
Plumber is not ventilating expert, and not responsible for attic ventilation that builder failed to install. Plumber should do a survey of location before installation to make sure gasoline vapors are not stored nearby, but summer attic ventilation is gray area until more general-public folks become aware of problem. Hotter summers temperatures will spread that information.

Hire local home center to install roof vents AND soffit vents.
Note: You also need soffit vents.
Remember a vent on the roof is like sucking air out of a coke bottle. The roof vent is no good unless air can also enter the attic from another vent located in the soffit.

Another solution is electric water heater for very hot locations.
Or install solar-assisted water heater.

Beeping noise

E2 means hot water over shot, make sure to check boiler hot water system to make sure zone valve or control is staying closed when the call for boiler hot water to the water heater is isolated. Sometimes a zone valve will fail open or not close properly causing hot boiler water to constantly feed the water heater.
