The belt goes round the motor spindle at the bottom. tape belt to large pulley. tilt machine backwards and put belt over motor shaft and tape into position. start belt onto main pulley and turn it so belt eases on. it is a tight fit

Washing machine motors are usually induction motors and do not have brushes? Anyway, the back comes off and that normally gives access to the screws that hold the top on, but the motor is normally located at the bottom of the machine.

I need a new belt for my Bendix washing machine model L43RX.It was made in Italy but I am unable to find a replacement belt here in Australia

Hiya,
i have a link to a site here in the U.K. who supply parts for these machines & after checking with there delivery section at the bottom of there pages they do deliver to other countrys too.. Here is the link
http://www.espares.co.uk/parts/washing-machines/tricity-bendix/aw1000w/p/1085/1261/0/407838
this will take you straight to the page with the belts however you can look at other parts by using the navigation panel on the left when you get to there site.

Hope this helps

How to replace belt on tricity bendix aw440 washer

1. remove top plastic panel (retaining screws are at back)
2. locate metal brace (12 incles long and 1/2 inch wide) on top of the cabinet (in mine it is on right edge)
3. unscrew retaining small bolts (there is one a few inches below on the inside of the cabinet too).
4. Repeat for left side.
5. push the back and front halves of the cabinet away from each other
6. slide the new belt around the front of the drum
7. reassemble
8. if you need to tension the belt wrap 10-20 turns of insulation tape around the idler pulley

THE FABRIC SOFTNER DRAWER IS ALWAYS FULL OF WATER ON OUR TRICITY BENDIX 1000 WASHING MACHINE

This is usually because the fabric softner draw is prone to colgging due to a build up of gunk in the holes that drain the softner into the machine at the appropriate time. Remove the drawert (There is usually a thumb press release at the back of the drawer you will see if you pull it out as far as you can.
After removal, wash the drawer all over (paying particular attention to the bottom of the drawer). If you have a garden hose, take the drawer outside after you have cleaned it and turn the hose on, full belt, and blast out all the waterways in the drawer to make sure they are clear. Refit the drawer and this should sort out the problem

Tricity bendix aw1400w will not spin

We had a similar problem, where it washed okay but didn't spin and just 'beeped' with end light flashing. When the drum was empty it was not moving round very freely.
Try unplugging the machine from the electricity. Then take top off machine off so you can see the casing outside the drum. There's a small rubber tube on top. If you disconnect that you can look through into the drum. Try turning the drum round slowly while looking through the hole. We found a sock wedged in which we managed to pull out through the hole (not easy and don't expect the sock to come out in one piece).
It worked - and we've had to repeat the procedure a couple of times now. Think I must be putting too much in the machine in 1 go, although there's always space at the top.
