Wireless Connectivity lost after installation of StartRight application software

Hi,

My HP dv1000 refuses to connect to the wireless network even though the network is visible. Everything was working fine till I installed a freeware called StartRight for startup management. I have restored the changes I did after installation but apparently something has gone wrong and I don't know how to fix it! Please help.

Just a question .... Did it connect ok before you installed this new software?

If the answer is yes, uninstall the software, if still not connecting after that, restore your computer to before that software was installed.

Let me know if this helps, if not, please, write back so we can go from there.

802.11a/b/g/n wireless connectivity

To connect your computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh network list, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used to configure the Wireless Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrase that was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router. http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_address For information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in the laptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

104 unsurported wireless network

you are probably tying to connect to a wireless-n network and the wireless card in that laptop will only support wireless-b and wireless-g. Another possibility is that your wireless card is failing or that you have a software problem. I would nee to know more information about the problem to give you an accurate solution.

Cant connect to 2wire dsl cant see network wirelessnot switched ?

firstly does it have a wireless indicator somewhere on the laptop?

most of the indicators located next to bluetooth switch and other indicates. once you identify the indicated then you can solve this problem.

check you wireless network settings. if not the device is disabled or drivers not installed.

if your device is ok, then you check the software for the wireless network. most computers do not indicate that the wireless device is working, try to install a wireless application driver for your laptop and try connecting it a wireless device to see if there is any connectivity.

thank you

HP Wireless Assistant

mmm a mystery...
are you part of a network or adhoc are others able to connect to ur pc.
you could download the drivers and reinstall them and if spyware doctor and win defender are registered you can always retrieve them.
after doing this I would consider installing norton antivirus or norton 360..I use norton 360 on all my machines.

go into control panel ,administrative tools, sevices and scroll down to wireless zero config and start.
