There are quite a few variables involved depending on what antenna and accessories you have, and where the antenna is mounted. Your best bet would be to download the installation guide at this link:

Hello,

GPS systems are standard features in many new vehicle . A GPS system communicates with satellites to provide directions through unfamiliar locations. However, older vehicles don't come with GPS, and many drivers purchase aftermarket systems for their vehicles. Installing a GPS system in your vehicle can increase its value and help make traveling a much more enjoyable experience.

Instructions And Materials Needed Below.

  • Plastic putty knife,Flat and Phillips screwdriver set,Wrench set,GPS system
  1. Slip the edge of a plastic putty knife under the edge of the radio face and lift the plastic housing off. Most aftermarket GPS systems incorporate a radio or CD player to replace the old stereo.
  2. Loosen the bolts on the left and right side of the stereo and pull it gently out of the dashboard. Unplug the connections at the back of the stereo and unscrew the mounting bracket on each side.
  3. Connect the mounting bracket from the stereo to the sides of the GPS system. If you've purchased the correct GPS unit for the make and model of your vehicle, the bracket will attach with just a screwdriver.
  4. Plug the wires into the back of the GPS system and slide the unit back into the dashboard. The ports on the back of the unit will be color-coded to correspond with the proper wire plugs, so there is no confusion when connecting the unit.
  5. Secure the GPS unit by inserting the bolts back into the bracket and tightening them with the wrench. Replace the plastic cover over the face of the unit and press it down until the plastic holders click into place. Turn the vehicle on and follow the instructions on the screen to program your new GPS system.

Good Luck.

The ?USB? line coming out of the unit is cut. is my unit still g?

Its pretty much useless. Unless you can find a wiring schematic from Pioneer for that particular unit. If you managed to obtain a schematic (very unlikely as its Pioneer's property!) you might be able to cut an existing usb connector and join it where the old cable was cut off.

How do I get my battery out of the gps

Since you're posting here, I'm assuming you have a C330.

Step 1 remove face plate.

Step 2, remove 4 screws.

Step 3, pull gently apart and take note of the antenna that's on the top of the garmin unit. It comes out easily so you must make note of it's orientation or you may never get the unit back together.

When apart, there are two screws holding the battery.

Battery plug must be cut and new battery spliced in.

Battery can be purchased on Ebay. If you can't find it, do a search for tom tom. They use the same battery.

Garmine Marine Network Wiring

There is nothing unique to Garmins wiring so an ethernet cable should work. I think it's a crossover but I did it a year ago so I could be mistaken. It's possible that the cable isn't fully connecting because they have added that big knurled screw on part to make it water proof. I had a problem with a Raymarine recently and it turned out to be a defective cable. If you purchase Garmin's connector it comes with instructions on how to assemble. You need a special crimping tool. I bought mine from Radio Shack for @ $40. You could probably save money by buying 2 connectors and cutting the ends off your ethernet cables.
