Hi Adie5, look like your pc is facing some hardware failure. Any error beep sound when you power up your desktop? Have you try change the RAM to test it?

Classic case of a failed power supply.  Replace the power supply and you can see whether anything was damaged when that failed.

I cannot boot up the computer. When I push the front power button, nothing happens. When I flip the switch on the back, or unplug it for 30 secs and plug it back in, the fan starts up and a yellow light...

I had this happen to my emachines T1842 about a year ago. I replaced the power supply and it worked fine. It was about 25 bucks but fixed my problem. Make sure the red switch on the back hasnt been messed with. it should be on 115. If you have moved it, it may have blown a fuse inside the power supply.

EMachine 2862 Desktop Dead On Power-Up

check all the leads to the hard drive and check that the fan starts spinning when you switch it on if it dont start then the problem is the switch these do often go and can be easily replaced and they are not expensive i had the same problem and found that it was just the switch hope this solves your problem for you you can bypass the swith so that the computer comes on when you turn the plug on but when you shut down the computer this shuts everything down but the switches are cheap enough to buy if you have changed the power pack then the only thing it can be is switch .................................

Emachine T3624 will not power up

Emachines are notorious for having faulty power supplies. If your lucky you just need to replace the power supply. I've seen a lot of them where the power supply also fried the motherboard.

Please don't forget to rate this solution.

Have a emachine desktop T3508 and I need a manual. And nothing happens with you apply power.

Try here.

http://www.emachines.com/support/options.html

The site does not support downloading of their manuals. I tried to find other information or manuals but cannot reach other sites on www.emachines.com at this time, I think they might be having site issues. I will keep looking and keep you posted. http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html not loading at this time from my location.

E-machine 5220 power up

Emachines have notoriously cheap power supplies. Often, while the power supply itself doesn't fail, it causes the failure of motherboard components, essentially trashing the computer.

Try the following:

First check and make absolutely certain that the power switch connector is properly connected to the motherboard. (Take standard grounding/safety precautions: wear a properly-grounded grounding strap, for example, when working with any internal components.)

Obtain a known-good power supply of equal or greater capacity to your eMachines PS and switch 'em out.

If either of these fixes your problem, well and good. If not, the problem may be, as is all too common with eMachines power issues, a motherboard issue caused by the power supply.

Emachine desktop power switch is shot

I would still try to replace the power supply first, before replacing the motherboard. In 80% cases that you are describing it is the power supply.
Hope this helps

I believe that the front button is not connecting to the switch for the power supply. Also make sure all internal connections are secure. Sometimes the button breaks from behind so that it cannot contact the switch. Let me know if it helps. There are other solutions if you tried this one first.
