Hello,
Please check the entire length of the paper feed path from input to output for a small piece of paper that is stuck causing a "Paper Jam".
You are lucky that you can still print manually as this usually shuts a printer down until the jam is found and removed!
Good Luck!

Go to menu, in tray tray behaving tray1 select as unless paper load,in tray2 page size as any size.. while giving print command select printer properties, goto paper/quality select paper source automatic or tray2 & shoot print command & check... # if you are not selected tray 1 as unless paper load, it will ask paper to load after command reached to it. # if you are not selected tray2 as any paper size, defined paper size only it will allow to print..any paper size it will print with out questing you..
Not necesarily so, it depends on how you have the printer configured. To test the MP tray, use the arrow keys to get to troubleshooting menu, press check, use arrow keys to get to paper path test, press check, set tray option to tray 1, then print test page. Printer should feed from MP tray. If it does, then the problem is that you do not have the printer set to print from MP tray first or you have the tray options set to exclusive which means that if your print job asks for tray 2 then printer will not print from MP tray unless you specify MP tray in the print options.
Usually the paper source is set to Auto in Printing Preferences so if you put paper in manual tray it will feed from manual tray and will override the tray 1 selection. If you specifically want to change it to a tray disabling tray 1 you can do so if you go into Control Panel, Printer and right click on the printer and select Printing Preferences and then on Paper menu change the paper source.
try this.. open whatever document you are trying to print.. then go File > Print > By the printer name open Properties > In the Papersource options.. on the first page select auto select and try printing.. if that doesn't work do all the same steps over and select Tray 1..hope that helps
Your tray 1 might be open (even just partially) or your manual feed setting might be on. You can find this setting under > Configure device / Printing / Manual Feed
Printing envelopes with an HP 1350: If you use MS Word, select ENVELOPES. When address window appears, select OPTIONS on right > select PRINTING OPTIONS > select FEED METHOD option on far right (envelope placed on right of tray face down); select FACE DOWN; select FEED FROM UPPER TRAY. The only problem I have with this is that the address prints off in the lower quarter of the envelope rather than in the center of the envelope as we would write it manually. I am currently working on solving that problem.
