The fan works perfectly fine, the air condotioning works also but when i switch it to the heating mode it does not work at all including the fan.

Also when its in this mode the lights will dim for a split second and there is a cliking noise which i think comes from the compressor, like its trying to get power or something.

Does the fan work on heating or nothing at all?

maybe the relay switch is faulty that switches the fan from cooling to heating and that maybe the clicking noise. It maybe that the relay is trying to switch but can't for some reason possibly a short in the relay. Unless you know electronics and can find the relay and remove it and solder a new one on you may have to have the relay fixed by a pro. It should be easy for you to find the relay if you know where the noise is coming from you can just have someone or yourself if possible switch from one mode to the other until you find the relay thats clicking and then you just need to mark it with a marker and turn off the power to the unit and change the relay with a new one. But most are soldered on not just pluged in.

Why does the split unit blow hot air in air conditioner mode, when switched on with the remote control.

because you have the temperature set at 28 degrees celcuis . Change the temperature to 18 degrees and it will cool 28 is hotter
It is a reverse cycle air conditioner it will warm the room if you set temperature to 28 degrees . Set it lower and it will blow out cold air.
Have exact same air conditioner as I recognise the remote control.
point it at the air conditioner when altering the temperature setting.
Check under the slide compartment also on the remote for more advanced settings.

I have a split system air conditioner that quit blowing cold air

either the compressor is not running or you have a leak and are low on freon. the outside fan running does not tell you the compressor is running.

Ruud heat pump is not heating.

You may have a problem with the reversing valve. How cold is your location? Do you also have electric back-up heat available in case of extreme temperatures?

The blower starts before its warm and it blows cold air for about 30 sec when its shutting down .

When any unit 1st come's on, you'll always have some cold air that's in the ducts that will blow out before you get warm air. If your duct work is uninsulated in a cold basement or crawl space then it will be even more noticeable. When the unit is heating from the Heat Pump mode, it takes a little longer for the gases to get warm enough so you'll fell heat. When it gets cold enough for the unit to switch from heat pump to the gas or electric heat source, you'll get warm air faster. If you have gas heat, some Thermostats have an anticipator setting for the gas valve. If it's set wrong it will effect the on/off cycle of the gas valve.
All duct work in non heated and a/c spaces, including inside walls, above dropped ceilings, in attics and crawl spaces, must be sealed & taped at the seams and joints and then insulated and taped.
Most new construction has solved that problem with insulated duct board, flexible insulated supply's and special tape.

Problem with GE Zoneline 5200 model

Heat pumps have saftey circuits that prevent liquid flooding of the compressor. Inadequate airflow across the evaporator in cooling can trip this circuit. Have your package unit serviced with particular attention to cleaning the evaporator coil and be sure your filters are clean and changed frequently in the summer months. Hope this helps GL!
