Hi Kevin,

Here are some area's to look into:

  • The Advance tap in System Properties, check the Performance settings. Under Visual Effects, you may want to choose "adjust for best performance". This helps reduce memory uses. And in the "Advance" tab check the virtual memory. Generally, the paging file should be 1.5 times the amount of memory installed. Or you can use the recommended by the system. Again, this will help reduce memory uses.
  • Go to your Display Properties and change the the Color resolution to 16 bit.
  • Check if there is an update driver for your network adapter.
  • Perform disk cleanup and defrag.
  • Then reboot.
Performing these steps will take time but should help.

Good luck and thank you

How do i remove the case on a old ibm m pro? i need to identify what type HD is in there so that i can match and buy a enclosure

IBM desktop computers have a Type, and Model Number.

It's usually on the back of the computer case located near the Windows Product Key.
Example: IBM M Pro 6219 10F.

6219 is the Type, 10F is the Model Number.

Since I don't know, I'm going to base it on an IBM M Pro 6219.
If this information is incorrect, simply state the correct Type in a Comment.

Facing the computer, your left side is the left side of the computer. The left side is the Side Cover, that removes. There is a Release Latch.

It's approximately in the middle coming up from the bottom, and almost halfway across the side cover.

The latch pivots. The front of the latch faces the front of the computer. It resembles a flip tab.
Insert a finger tip under the front of the latch, gently pull to the outside. This releases the side cover.

Slide the side cover towards the rear of the computer, lift it up, and out, then set it aside.

If you wish, you can give me all of the number/letters, (Manufacturers Code), that you see on the harddrive, and I'll tell you exactly what you're looking at.

The Hardware Maintenance Manual I'm looking at, states that it could be either an IDE, (PATA), or SCSI harddrive.

Doesn't state the different sizes offered, spindle speed, Seek Time, or any other information.

This is IBM Support, and the download page for the Hardware Maintenance Manual, for the IBM M Pro 6219 series,

http://www-947.ibm.com/systems/support/supportsite.wss/docdisplay?lndocid=MIGR-45692&brandind=5000004

On this page scroll down with your eyes to the heading - File link
Directly under File link is the file name - 71p9918.pdf
Left-click on it.

This is a PDF file download. You may not see anything happening for up to 30 seconds after you click on the link.
It took 22 seconds before I saw the first page, and the file was also fully downloaded. I use a medium speed DSL connection.

I don't know if you are familiar with PDF files. If so, please disregard the following.
At the top header of the PDF file is a Page Number box.
It is to the right of the blue Down Arrow.
Put your mouse cursor in the box. Left-click once. Type 51
Press the Enter key.

Page 51 shows you, and tells you how to remove the side cover.

How do I download Acer Aspire x 1301 owners manual

Have you tried to download it from Acer Support?

This is Acer Support, and the download page for Guides and Manuals, for the Aspire x1300 series of desktop computers,

http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/desktop/2009/acer/aspire/AspireX1300/AspireX1300ul.shtml

The Acer Aspire X1300 User's Guide is the first file listed.

This file is a PDF file. The computer you are using has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.

After you left-click on - Acer Aspire X1300 User's Guide, you may not see anything happening for a few seconds.

The PDF file is downloading in the background.

Should you wish to save this PDF file to your computer, left-click on the Floppy Disk icon in the top header of the file.

(This way you can burn a copy off to a CD disk for safekeeping, and can also delete the file off of your computer, so that you will have more harddrive space)

The Floppy Disk icon is the second icon from the left, in the top header.
If you hover your mouse icon over the Floppy Disk icon, it will briefly reveal,
'Click to save this to your computer or another location'

After you have clicked on the Floppy Disk icon, a small window will come up.
Save a copy...

At the bottom of the Save a copy window is a box with - File name:

The name of the file is -
UM_ACER_1_0_EN_X1300_X1301

Go down to the bottom right of the Save a copy window, and left-click on - Save.

If you have your downloads set to save to your My Documents folder (Documents for Vista) this file will go there.

If you do Not have your documents set to save to your My Documents folder, this file will go to your desktop screen.

When you see the file name, Double-click on it to open it.

(Note* There is also a separate folder in My Documents. Downloads. The file may may be downloaded to the Downloads folder.

If you have trouble downloading this file, come back, and let me know, or if you have any additional questions about this.

Simply state so in a Comment.

ASUS P5GD1 motherboard purchased in 2005 - I can't find manual - need to connect a 1TB SATA drive - I have 1 IDE 320 GB drive and a Plextor DVD burner and a LG CD burner connected now - Problem is - can't...

Be prepared as this is a lengthy solution.
I like to give a complete solution, to try to avoid possible errors.

As requested here is the Asus P5GD1 motherboard manual, (Users Manual),

http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

The above is Asus Support, and the Downloads page.

On this page, go to the upper left corner under the heading Download, (In white)

In the box underneath that states - Input Model to Search, put your mouse cursor in the box, left-click once, LEAVE your mouse cursor in the box.

Type P5GD1

In the next box down where it states - Select Category, left-click on the blue down arrow, on the right side of the box.

In the drop down menu, left-click on Manual.
Now go right below this box, and left-click on
Search Info.

At first it will come up with a page that states - No info
Give it a second or so, and Manual files will be listed.

There are three model versions listed of the Asus P5GD1
Left-click right on the appropriate model.
You stated simply P5GD1, so that is what I clicked on.

A small window will come up. Please select your operating system.

Left-click on the blue down arrow, to the right of the
Select OS box.
Left-click on WinXP, in the drop down menu.
Now left-click on Search.

Scroll the page down towards the bottom.
You want Version e1745

(There IS a newer version listed. Version e1673.
Date is 2004/06/29
Suggest you Do Not click on this one!
I just did, and it tried to download a LGA 775 processor installation update!)

Go below, and left-click on Global (DLM)
Type the characters you see in the box given.
(For the letters that you see, TYPE capital letters. Won't work otherwise)

Now click on Submit.

This is a PDF file download. After you click on Global (DLM), you may not see anything happening for a few seconds. The file is downloading in the background.

You will see a download progression bar. Let the file download all the way before looking through it.
Otherwise you may break the download connection.

I took you this way to avoid possible issues with downloading. Sometimes the servers that Asus uses, are 'Less Than'.
If I gave you the direct PDF file name, it may not have downloaded for you.

You can save this PDF file to your computer. This way you can also burn it to CD disk.

(For easy access anytime you want it, and also to delete it off of your computer, to save storage space on the harddrive)

To Save:

In the top header of the PDF file are icons. You want to click on the Floppy Disk icon. This is the second icon from the left.

If you hover your mouse cursor over the Floppy Disk icon, it will briefly reveal,
'Click to save this file to your computer or another location'

After you click on the Floppy Disk icon a small window will come up.
Save a copy...

At the bottom of the window you will see the heading, File name: and a box to the right of it, with
e1745_p5gd1.pdf ,in it.

That's the file name you will be looking for in your computer, or on a CD disk.
You can add to this file name. You CANNOT change the file name.

To add:
Put your mouse cursor in the box, right after the f in .pdf
Left-click once.
(May be twice for some PDF files. Wasn't for this one. Whatever happens, make sure the blue highlight is gone, and the file name is still there)

Make one space with your spacebar, type Asus P5GD1 Mobo Manual. (Mobo = Motherboard)
Makes it Much easier to find.

Go below to the right, and click on Save.

Depending on where you have your downloads set to go to, this will go to your My Documents folder, or to your desktop screen.

(My Documents for WinXP. Documents for Vista.
Could also go to a sub-folder in My Documents.
- Downloads)

When you see the file name, Double-click right on it to open the file.

Cannot download the user manual ?

This is a PDF file of the Users Manual for a Casio keyboard CT647,

http://www.casionz.co.nz/Site/Pronto/Files/user_manuals/CT647%20USER%20MANUAL.PDF

The above link is a PDF file download for the Casio keyboard CT647 Users Manual.
I just looked through it. Should the above direct link for the PDF file not work for you, then this is the main page, (Casio New Zealand),
http://www.casionz.co.nz/Site/Pronto/Files/user_manuals/CT647%20USER%20MANUAL.PDF

Under the -> Results of your search for 'CT647' <- heading, click on the CT647 that is underlined, not the CT647 Users Manual.

It is a PDF file download. Give it ten seconds or so, before you see the first page. Wait until it fully downloads, before you start looking through it.

If you have trouble now, I suggest you update your Adobe Acrobat Reader. Perhaps also, your antivirus software may be blocking the download.

I also found a 'Talking Manual',
