This must be so easy/obvious that the instructions are not provided. However, I can't figure out how to switch out the sanding band on the sanding drum mandrel. I got the old sanding band off, but can't figure out how to get the new one on! Thank you very much, Bonnie

Re: silly problem with sanding band
Make sure to loosen the screw on the end of the mandrel. After removing the old sanding drum, gently roll the black rubber between your fingers to compress it slightly. The new sanding drum should slide right on and then tighten the screw.

have had the same problem with a Ryobi 1000w invertor generator. The problem that you are experiencing is the low level oil switch. To confirm if this is the problem disconnet the low level oil switch (Yellow or Orange wire). Try and start the generator now, it should start with the first little tug on the recoiler. Once it is running, reconect the low level oil switch and see what happens then. Either it will cut out, then you know it is the oil level switch or it will continue running and the problem will go away. Please ensure you manually check the oil level first before starting.
Yamaha EF2000iS Generator Service Manual download The procedures in this manual are organized in a sequential, step-by-step format. The information has been compiled to provide the mechanic with an easy to read, handy reference that contains comprehensive explanation of all disassenbly, repair, assembly and inspection operations. Each chapter provides exploded diagrams before each disassemblysection for ease in identifying the correct disassembly and assembly procedures.
You might have a bad spark plug or plug wire. I know this may sound silly but make sure the unit is full of oil. It has a low oil shutdown that will kill the ignition. You might check the wiring and make sure that it is all connected. Especially the wires going to the ignition switch. These are great generators. Good luck.
Follow the instructions in the diagram in the manual. You cannot have a complete circuit with the neutral disconnected and the unit would be dangerous as the external metal surfaces could be at 120 vac and be a shock hazard. I do not understand why you have two different hookup instructions but you definitely need to hook all three wires up, black, white and green.
As silly as this is going to sound, make sure the oil level is right. I have a Powermate 6250 that did the same thing to me. Turned out the oil was just a little too low and the sensor was killing the power. When you try to start it, the red light will be flashing in the on/off switch, that's the low oil indicator. Hope this helps.
Hi Dawn, I'll ask the obvious question, Does the engine start and run every Thursday at 2:30pm (more or less) or not?
What I see in the field is that people notice the TOD clock on the timer is incorrect due to DST changeover and make a boo-boo while trying to correct it. You seem to have the right idea above so it's better to observe and see if the thing operates like we want rather than fix what might not be broken :-)
Generally speaking... Generators have 3 switch positions, Off, Auto, and Manual. I think that's the switch on the left side of the panel you mention.
Timers have a Program, Run, and sometimes Override mode of operation. This would be that switch on the right side of the panel above. When in the "Run" mode almost all timers display the current Time Of Day somewhere, many blink the colons in the display to indicate that something is happening.
