When problem accures in Amplefier section, protection actviates to protect speakers and further damage in unit. I think, Amp got defective in your system and needs qualified service person.

JVC MX-GT88 sound system showing protected them shut off why

Chances are that something is blown in the power output stages and units shuts down to protect against further damage.

Repair or replace, which ever is cheaper!

My vr-507 shut down to protect my speakers but will not power up now.

Sounds like the output transistors in the amp are blown. Try powering on without speakers attached - if it still shuts off your amp is blown and needs to be repaired.

Shut off during loud play

Many receivers have a thermal "overload" switch that will shut down power to protect the rest of the unit if it senses an issue like excessive heat, or if the ohms or impedance gets too high. This is a safety mechanism and you should probably seek a qualified audio repair shop for further troubleshooting.

Motor shuts down due to temperature . Is there any way to override it ,or why is it shutting down?

Hi,Motor shuts down due to the thermistor fuse, power will be cut off when the motor overheats and the thermistor will cut off the power to protect damage to the main winding and to protect your house to get burn down. This is good when you left the fan running when your out of the house or your at sleep. The only way to over ride it is to remove the fuse and directly connect the terminal to the winding, fairly dangerous. The fuse is located at the back of motor, inside the motor itself. some of the electric fan uses crystal type of fuse, that is easily replace because it is located on the exterior of the motor. But it does not protects the winding of the motor.Check the fuse if you could see any crystal fuse in the control knob or at the back of the motor. If you can't find it, means they uses a thermistor type of fuse, a technician is required to replace it.
Hope that helps you out.
Thanks for using FixYa!

try to do a power cycle by removing the power cord and pressing the power button for 15 to 20 seconds without any power and plug it back in if that does not work it might be the board of the computer got burned and this unit needs repairs

WHEN I TURN THE TV ON IT IMMEDIATELY SHUTS OFF....THEN, I CAN'T TURN IT ON UNLESS I UNPLUG IT FIRST. IT SHUTS OFF IMMEDIATELY AGAIN.....AND SO ON!! I WAS THINKING THAT MAYBE THERE WAS A ''FUSE'' OR SOME...

This sounds like a serious overload of the power supply circuitry - as the TV tries to start up, it is sensing an overload and therefore shuts itself down to protect itself (and you if it overheated).

Primary causes of such overloads in older TVs is a fault in the power supply circuitry itself, or a fault in the line output circuitry (the bit that generates the high voltages TV's use, and also the bit that scans the picture left to right).
Both types of fault require expertise and test equipment well beyond DIY level, to diagnose and repair.

Suggest you call a repair shop who should give you a free estimate as to likely cost of repair. Then you can decide if it worth it or not.

Power just cut off - like a circuit breaker or fuse blew

Yes, there is a fuse. But there are also other protective devices to shut the oven down if other parts fail. The oven's 8 years old, you say, so you would be better off just to replace it than to start trying to repair it. Microwaves are dangerous to work on, and basic countertop models are so cheap there's no point in paying for a repair (or even buying repair parts if you figure out what's wrong).

No power to tv

The power management and protection circuits have taken over. There is something taking too much current and the protection system has shut the system OFF to prevent further damage ...............if you are familiar with tv service you can check the main fuse that should be close to where the power cord comes in,if you find the fuse blown it needs to be replaced with an exact replacement for AMPS rating and VOLTS rating as well as size,if the fuse is blown black we might have more problems ahead in the circuit and it will blow up again as soon as you plug the tv back in,if it blows again it will need a more involved repair, the problem could be in the primary side of the power supply.......Check horizontal output transistor.............

Protection displayed and shuts off

The protect message indicates that the output amp section has a problem. Normally this requires the replacement of the output transistors or the output amp pac. Expect the repair cost to be about $20-$60 for parts plus the local labor rate.
