For some reason you may have an overfill problem in the water tray.adjustment
screw. which is behind the front cover of the ice maker. Worse -you could have a cracked tray. You need to look for a leak or over filling after it has dumped the ice and begins the refill

SOURCE: Frost on Ice Maker shute

Dtot, does the flap shut all the way? Sounds like you are drawing moisture from the chute. The flapper should seat so that no air is being drawn in. I have seen a number of these Whirlpools where the pin and spring retainer has broken off from the dispensor housing causing this problem. They use to replace the whole freezer door because the dispensor housing is not a servicable part. They have now come out with a kit to address this problem. This is not a fun job for a first timer. You may want to contact Whirlpool and inquire about the aforementioned. If this is your case, there is a good chance they will cover it. Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: Water/freezing to ice at the bottom of the freezer MZD2766ge

sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all that ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youll melt everything) or by pouring hot water down the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine

SOURCE: Water dispenser inside fridge and ice maker in freezer part in bottom both quit working.

There can be many reasons for no water supply. Line feeding the refrigerator is clogged or blocked. The water control valve that turns water to ice maker and dispenser is defective or the water filter located inside your refrigerator is in need of change. I will be here to help you go through the steps. Let me know when you are ready, Thanks, Sea Breeze

SOURCE: Ice accumulation on the bottom of the freezer

Your drain line is clogged, that is located behind the white wall inside of the freezer. The water comes from defrost cycle, that happens every 8-12 hours. You need to defrost it and snake it.

SOURCE: my ice maker quit making ice.

Hi, If your ice maker has stopped making ice then you need to check these things.
The lever that controls the ice maker has been pushed up which turns it off. If you have a red lever, pull it down to the wire and if you just have a wire then just pull down the wire to start your ice maker up.
Make sure the freezer temperature is below 10 degrees F If the freezer is too warm ice production will be poor because the ice maker will not cycle properly.
The ice maker fill tube may have ice formed in it, blocking it. Use a hair dryer to melt the ice. Watch out for the plastic parts, so that you do not melt the plastic. Also check the water inlet valve and the shut off valve, to make sure it is not plugged with debris. The openings in those valves are very small.
Check the gears in the ice makers to see if they are broken or stripped. Also look to see if the ice rake is broken. All parts in the ice maker are replaceable individually, If you find broken parts replace them.

Take care

Where is the ice maker fan for LG French Door Refrigerator?

Hello,

The ice maker fan is located in the freezer and is part of the Grille Assembly ( LG part Name) Which is the removable back panel in the freezer. If you have an error code on the display such as ER/IF the fan is not rotating due to failure or ice accumulation in the fan blade. If you have no error code and the ice maker is not producing ice 2 things to check are...1. On the bottom of the ice maker there is a Test Button. Press and hold the button and the ice maker should rotate, Dump ice cubes and refill with water. If the ice maker does not cycle replace the ice maker. 2. Check freezer temperature. Freezer Temperature must be below 15 degrees to make ice. Ideally freezer temp should be 0 Degrees. If you have warm temps in the freezer there may be a sealed system issue preventing proper cooling.

Hope this helps.

Every time ice maker runs, water accumulates at the bottom of the fridge. It is a bottom freezer model made 9-2013. What could be plugged?

Hi,

Check the ice maker fill cup, it could be full of water or ice and all the water misses the ice maker. Check the fill line in the freezer to make sure its in the full cup to the ice maker. CHeck the drain under the evaporator in the freezer to see if it is open and obstructed. Thats what I would look for. Good Luck

Kenmore fridge model 596 - 79213014 2 yrs old accumulates ice at the bottom freezer. The fridge has built it ice maker but we did not opt for that option. Can anyone pls advise how tofix the problem?

IS THERE A CONTAINER FOR THE ICE TO COLLECT IN UNDER THE ICEMAKER??? IF NOT YOU WILL NEED TO GET OR ORDER ONE..
NEXT THERE IS A WIRE LEVER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ICE MAKER. WHEN THE ICE PUSHED THAT LEVER UP IT WILL QUIT MAKING ICE. WITH YOUR HAND GENTLY LIFT THE LEVER UP UNTIL IT STAYS LOCKED IN THE UP POSITION... ONCE IT IS IN THE UP POSITION ... IT WILL NOT PRODUCE ANY ICE.

Where is ice-detecting sensor located in the bottom freezer refrigerator? No ice/water in door, only in freezer (Kenmore)?

On the side of the icemaker, there is a wire bale or arm that is pushed up by the accumulating ice that shuts off the icemaker.

Ice maker leaking

Are you sure it's the ice maker that's leaking? We have this model & ours accumulates a HUGE iceberg in the bottom of the freezer, but the water seems to be coming out of the back, at the bottom of the back panel, where the vents are.

Water inside bottom of freezer.

Water accumulation in the freezer more commonly points to the ice maker. Over a period of time, water entering the ice maker can slowly freeze to the point it provides a small restriction and prevents a portion of the water from entering the ice maker. The plastic spout/tube could also have either cracked or shifted and is allowing a small amount of water to leak into the freezer.
