I have a new windows vista home basic. How can I connect my HP Deskjet F380 printer?

    Have done that but it says incompatible. I had windows xp home and it was fine. Now with the vista there appears to be a problem.bShould I contact HP?

Use your usb cable to a any usb connecter in your pc.

and switch on the printer .

then you can get a massege form their was a new hardwear in your computer

then use the cd which you get form the printer

did you choose the name of your printer in the printer option when printing in the other programs?...try it...else maybe you need to wait while your printer spool... or is it compatible with the program you are using?

I had the same problem. I could print, but not scan.

However, if you open up Paint and go to file and scan, it will scan your document. For some reason, using the scan button on the printer itself will not work with Vista, but using Paint will. I also heard that using Windows fax and scan will also work.
