Question about Akai PTH5498 54" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
The tv will not come on. The only thing it does is that the red timer lite stays on all the time.
HELLO IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A BAD FLY TRANSFORMER. . THAT NEEDS TO REPLACED. "GOOD LUCK"

Check that the power cord is securely plugged into the power outlet.
Make sure that the power outlet is receiving electricity by plugging a different device into the plug and turning the power on. If the other device does not work you likely have a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
Replace the blown fuse or reset the circuit breaker as needed. If it happens again, an electrician should assess the problem.
Contact akai Support if Steps 1 to 3 do not solve your problem. Only a trained service technician should attempt to fix the power problem with your television
