The screen drive is too high for the "green'' gun, if this is a CRT type set. You did not specify what model or make you have, and this is the most common failure of these sets. If you have a different type of set, it would help if we knew the specifications...accordianman

My Hitachi tv no longer has any green contract when I try to change the hue as a result my tv has a large centre area that seems to have a redish hue and no matter how I try I don't get any real color...

Hello,

This problem is very common with rear projection TV's.

It is related to one or more of the colour guns being out of alignment or needing to be replaced. The only way to correct this issue is to have a technician come in and fix it or bring it into a repair center. I personally would suggest purchasing a new TV. The cost of getting them aligned is usually more then a basic LCD.

Hope this helps

My tv has a green hue around the edge and a concave appearance on the edges

that's due to an electromagnetic field.remove all gadgets that have magnets in them probably surround speakers from the tv area.with time the hue disappers.you can remove the hue manually also by using a magnet in front of the tv and gradually moving it away from the tv in the direction of the hue.

Green hue

Unplug the TV from the wall and plug it back after 45-60s should fix the problem. However, it will come back from time to time so the same procedure will reset the video board. You'd want to upgrade the firmware on the ATSC tuner as well because old firmware was built before the final standard and when the TV goes digital in June 2009, it wreak havoc on all older HD TV. Go to hitachi website and download new FW for your TV. Copy the FW to an SD card and follow procedure from Hitachi to upgrade. It works wonder for my TV after the upgrade.

Blurred TV - double vision with red hue

I was searching online about what could be the problem with our TV and I came across your page. We have a 52" JVC Projection TV that now has a "blurred" screen. We can see the channels but it looks like it's has a shadow around the images. The screen in in a red hue with green blur.

If you have any suggestions on what caused this and what we can do to have this fixed, I would greatly appreciate your advice.

The green hue (I had it too) is a result of the optical block failing.
Sony has extended their warranty (regardless of the purchase date). see link
