Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC
Hello, i have an Emachine model, W3107. The other day, a loose wire inside the case grounded. It blew the suge stipe. After fixing the wire problem, and reseting the surge protector, the Pc will start to reboot. However, it wont. the only thing that shows on my monitor is "no signal"
The no signal will only stay there for about a second, then the monitor will go black. On my monitor while powering on the light is green, after the no signal box goes away, the same green light will turn orange/amber. The whole time, both cooling fans are running, and the will not stop. Wondering what is going on. is the motherboad fried? some say its a fure, others say to check the cable from my video card to the monitor? If it is something simple as a fuse, where would the fuse be located at? in the power supply, on the motherboard? Last, what would the fuse look like? thanks a million.
Try using another monitor that you know works. Then try another video card. The fans are running because the computer is running ---but the monitor is not. Green to Amber means monitor is not on.
A lot can go wrong with loose wires that shouldn't be loose.
But I would try this first.
