Hello dpgiggles,

This sounds like a back-light and/or inverter problem. I have a question, do you see a dim picture on the screen? To aid you in this shine a flashlight (electrical torch) on the screen and see if you can see a faint image. This will let you know if the back-light or inverter is defective. Once this is determined, then you will have to find out if the back-light and inverter are separate units apart from the screen or if they are an all in one arrangement. If it is all in one then the TV may not be worth the time and money repairing, if the back-light and inverter are separate units then, I would suggest that you have a TV repair person perform the needed troubleshooting and repair work on the TV set.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

That sounds like a defective LCD panel tab connection. Does it go away if you tap the left side of the set? Or does it clear up when the set warms up?

Viore 42" plasma has picture but no sound

check first at the sound set up menu might set to off. if the settings is ok and the speaker is also good, the cause is either bad amplifier circuit or sound processor at the main board. at this time you will need a trouble shooting.

PICTURE NO SOUND

A short list of things to check:

Sound in set or a box muted OR turned low.

Speakers in the set (see menu) switched on or off.

Internal/external switch set external

Does set have sound when a DVD is connected to rear inputs.

If connected with cable or sat box to rear inputs of set try unplugging both box and set--wait a short time and plug back to allow both to reboot.

Clearly it could be an audio problem in the set (Got the model number?) but explore all this and also make sure if set has a audio mode on remote it is set to stereo.

Pop sound....no picture or sound

Actually there aren't any "tubes" in that set at all. The display is LCD. I would suspect the display (the LCD part) last. It's more than likely suffered a failure in the power supply, possibly some other section of the set.
I suggest that it's time to take it to a professional for a diagnosis. There isn't a thing you can do to correct this condition without taking the set apart.

Good picture, no sound

hello, if you have a good picture then your set is serviceble make sure you check all your options and audio set up settings before you go futher, with this symptom your set displaying fine and sound not coming trough it could be a fualty sound board module this board is identified by aquiring a service manual and then using the schematic drawings location the board that controls sound, i would then find this board online at auction or parts site and have it exchanged. hope this helps

You probably have a bad inverter board or possibly power supply. Both can cause this problem.
