Hi lumberman597

The cool thing about guitar amps is that you can mess with the knobs until you find the sound that you like. There is no particular way to use it, just try to find a tone that suits you. Start with gain controls down and tone knobs at 12o'clock. Turn up the gain(one at a time) to get distortion and more sustain to your sound. Turn the distortion up midrange down and treble up for metal sounds, more bass and midrange for bluesy sounds. just play around with it and you will see what I mean. Here is a guide from Fender on how to setup your guitar. If you are not sure, a good guitar tech can make any old axe feel and sound great with a good setup
unfortunately, Fender do not have an electronic copy of your owners manual to download, but you can buy one for $5 direct from them here It is only a 1 page manual.... so you will get more from just messing with it.

Musicians spend there whole lives tuning and tweaking knobs to get the sound they are looking for. It wont take you long to start doing the same.:)

robotek

I want the Amp diagram.

Hi,
You can download the complete service manual including the schematic diagram also.
Here is the link.
Unfortunately there are many possibilities of faults and so I can not give you any solution. You should have given description about the problem.
When you get to the site using the link it is possible that you have to wait a little bit to be able to download.
After waiting you should see a button as "Get Manual" and simply click on it and save the file.
Thanks.

Looking for a Service Manual for Sansui AU 9500 Amp. more detailed than the Operating Instructions and Service Manual available on the Web.

Hi,
I hope this schematic diagram will help you find the problem of this amp.
Try to give signal to the aux input and trace and find where the signal disappears.
When you get to the site using the link it is possible that you have to wait a little bit to be able to download.
After waiting you should see a button as "Get Manual" and simply click on it and save the file.
Good luck!

How to wire the tuner and amp what wires do i need to get it to work

In most cases, you need a pair of Red/White RCA cables. Connect one set of ends (1 red + 1 white) to the external tuner's output and the other (white + red) to the input on the Amp.

Then you need double stranded wire to connect the speakers to the amp. one x double stranded wire for each speaker. You can use electrical cord from the hardware store (e.g. 18 gauge wire) or you can buy some speaker wire (16 to 20 gauge - use lower number wire (thicker) for higher power amp). 16 to 18 gauge wire for a 100 watt per channel amp if your speakers are less than 15 feet from the amp (wires are less than 15 feet long). If longer than 15 feet, use the 16 gauge wire. You can use 18 gauge for most anything else.

I have a 1200 watt sony xplod amp hooked up to a 15" SBL Gorilla sub. The bass hit for a while and then started to cut off. Now it wont work unless i touch the remote wire to the power wire, and even then...

this kind of problems usually happen when the amp is not getting enough current to power up the
amp. the moment a loud low frequency hits the amp it fails. cud be ur power unit not giving enough power to the amp or u have a loose connection somewhere on ur power line. besides 8gauge is a bit small. try using about 4gauge. should have good ground too. they draw large current so ur battery should be in top condition as well.

My Squier 15W practice amp has stopped working. I've ruled out the chance that the guitar doesn't work, I plugged it into my friends amp and it sounded fine. However when I turn my amp on, all I get is...

There is a good chance that the output stage (usually an Integrated cct) has been damaged - sometimes one supply fuse failing can cause this effect - checking inside the amp and looking at the main cct board will show some on board fuse (s) and or the main output IC - you could be luck and it is a common type that you can by at your local electronics supply retailer and just replace it - at these low powers the cctry is pretty simple - and simple to fix.

Realistic MPA-35 amp by Radio Shack

It's not that this amp isn't like "newer amps" with + and - terminals, it's that this amp is made for public-address system use. This kind of amp is used in a store, for instance, to pump background music through speakers all over the place. The terminals you connect to are determined by total impedance of the speaker configuration used.

Most single speakers, or the two- or three-way cabinets for home stereo systems, are 8 ohms. If you're connecting a single speaker you use the "common" and "8 ohm" terminals on the rear panel. With multiple speakers, you need to figure out the total impedance and use the appropriate terminal. In series, impedances add. Two 8 ohm speakers in series would total 16 ohms, so you use the common and 16 ohm terminals. In parallel, the total impedance drops. Two 8 ohm speakers in parallel total only 4 ohms. You need to figure the total impedance of the speaker configuration and connect accordingly. Too great of a mismatch will damage the amp or speakers or both.

You might be able to find the manual for this amp on Radio Shack's website. Here's a link to the manual for the model MPA-40 which should have similar output terminals. The basic information about figuring out total impedance and general use of PA amps applies to your amp as well.

A better solution is like I have mine; use the Arcam 10 connected to the tweeters of your speakers & the power Amp connected to the woofers & link the pre out's on the 10 to the power Amp. using phono cables. The Manual can be downloaded from Arcams discontinued section of their website.
This Bi-Amp method gives a far superior sound than just using the 10 as a pre Amp.
