This always works you should shake it,blow in the speaker hole, then shake it again, get a tooth pick or something like a toothpick and shove it in the speaker hole, drop it, (not to hard)show it justin bieber, and it will be so scared and work so it never has to see it again just kidding after you drop it say nyan cat 3 times, and last but not least do the same thing one more time(everything i said to) then hook it up on computer go to the menu reboot it(reset) and make sure it works hope this helps

Apple service guy told me to slide the lock switch back & forth several times quickly to "reboot". Problem solved for me. He said you can also reboot by holding the center button and the Menu button simultaneously

Press and hold the center button while pressing down on the menu buttton. The Apple logo will appear. This will reboot your Ipod.

If that doesn't work, restore your Ipod to factory settings by plugging your Ipod into Itunes and select restore to factory settings from you Ipod settings in Itunes.

My ipod nano wont do anything

I think your ipod is dead. This happened to me to. I was listening to it when I arrived at my destination, and I thought I turned it off and I put it in my pocket. Later that day when I went to listen to it, it wouldn't turn on at all. Aparently, it had stayed on. Hold the pause button for five to ten seconds. The apple symbol will appear on your ipod. Immeadility put it in your docking station before it goes away. Your ipod will turn on, and itwill start charging.

I hope this helps. Please rate my solution.

If it doesn't respond when you plug it to a charger its most likely motherboard problem.

here is the apple warranty and repair service assistant

also here is the ifixipodsfast.com ipod parts and repair service
http://store.ifixipodsfast.com/ - this may be cheaper if your out of warranty.

My ipod nano wont do anything

  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

Hope this helps

By pressing the center button and the menu button the same time and holding it for around 6-10 seconds, your device should turn on. You then should be able to access your files and charge your ipod.

My ipod nano wont do anything

Did you try resetting the iPod? If the battery were dead then when you plugged it in, you'd still see something popping up on the screen. What's possible is that your screen got disconnected from the iPod logic board or otherwise got ruined. When you try turning the iPod on can you hear any noise inside? If you toggle the hold switch does it show the orange light? If you can't hear any noise and it doesn't show the orange light, your iPod's logic board probably died. You can get a new one off eBay and replace it if you're comfortable opening your iPod. Otherwise, you can sell the broken iPod on eBay for a decent amount.
