Question about Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-200mm Lens
Thanks so much for offering to help with my problem. I use a EX DG Sigma lens, and the lens is in the AF setting and the camera is in the AF setting. I have shot at 1/500 and still have a 'soft' feel to the photos. Anything you can suggest will be appreciated!
Are you using a DX lens. Do you know if you have the camera's auto focus set to AF (auto focus) or M (manual)? There are many things that effect the focus and as an added note, any shots over 1/60 shutter speed in normal light should be in focus without the need of a tripod.
I shoot a D80 and a D70 and I have excellent results and very clear pictures, I'd be will to bet that either your lens is incompatible with the camera or it's just a setting. I'd be happy to help if you could give more info to your settings.
You can set the focal point by toggling the menu switch (you can see it moving around into different locations as it "wraps" around the viewfinder, now depending on your f-stop the area that is not in focus will be soft, you can also experiment with the autofocus lock on you subject and evn try amnually focusing on your subjects.
