It could be that the cb is to small to get your voice out there. I just ran into the same problem with my Midland 77-099 and i got to talking with one of my old family friends, he told me that it was to small and needed to get an amp, so to get an amp and be legal you have to get FCC licensed to run one and then buy you an amp and read the manuals on how to hook it up bc you dont want to destroy the amp or cb itself in a matter of sec. this is all i know to do. Hope it helps if not email me at mag0842@gmail.com

Midland doesn't provide circuit diagrams to the public .They do this because they want you to send your radio back to them to be fixed and if they can't fix it they will send you another.

Brand new Midland 5001z 40 channel cb blows fuses its turned on

Where did you buy the radio at? Can you return it to the store? If you purchased it at a big box store, like Walmart, they will take it back without a receipt on an exchange.

More than likely the radio was wired backwards by someone, which blew the protection diode, and then was returned to the store and put back on the shelf.

If it is just a blown protection diode, it is only a $10 fix at most any cb radio shop.

If I can help anymore, please let me know.

Brand new Midland 5001z blows fuses immediately after its turned on. I tried the power cord on Cobra 25 that has the identical plug configuration and its Ok. I don't have the receipt as I got it a

bad final also check for any burned resistors in the area. If the final caused the resistor to burn the just replacing the resistor it would burn the new one also.

I need the wiring for the mic

Hello,
Here is the wire diagram for several common mics in relation to a 4 pin CB. Most recent 4 pin CB's such as Midland, Cobra, Connex, Uniden, etc can use 4 pin mics. The wiring is actually depending on the mic rather than the CB so long as the CB's are 4 pin as well. Once you go back to late 80's the 4 pin design was a little different. Anything new it is simpler.
Stock Mic 1- Shield (Ground) 2- Yellow (Audio) 3- Red (Transmit) 4- White (Receive)
Astatic - 4 wire 1- Shield 2- White 3- Red 4- Black
static - 6 wire 1- Shield & Blue 2- White 3- Red 4- Black Yellow NC

Daiwa EM-500 Cobra CA Series 1- Shield & Black 2- Red 3- White 4- Blue
Galaxy DC-521S - 4 wire 1- Shield 2- Yellow 3- Red 4- Black
Galaxy CB-660EI 1- Shield & Black 2- White 3- Red 4- Blue
Sadelta 1- Shield 2- White 3- Brown 4- Green
Turner RK56 Road King 1- Shield & Red 2- White 3- Blue 4- Black Yellow NC

I have a Midland CB Car with no mike or a car power pluge, the model # is 70 - 336B and the serial # is 760408

Your midland CB will use a standard 4 pin wired CB plug which is most common for most mics sold today. Your power cord will be a standard 3 pin CB power cord which again is most common with CB's today. You need not purchase a "radio specific" cord or mic. Cobra, Uniden, Midland all the same mic pin out and power cords. Good luck.

I have a midland 1001z cb radio with a magnetic mount attenna by cobra. When I transmit receivers are getting a lot of squealing. Before I bought the midland i had a radio shack cb which worked find.

is this same antenna as before. you should always check the SWR's to see if set correctly.. other than that. bad grounds, bad microphone can make any radio squeal..

Converting a different brand of mic for a midland CB

This should be a typical Midland pinout. If you are using a generic 4 pin mic that is wired to cobra/Uniden, all you have to do is switch pin 1 & 2, then 3 & 4.

Not all mics are color coded the same with their wires.
