Door of camera is not shutting completely

If the connections are tight and not loose, battery should not drain excessively. Gap in door should not drain batteries. Try gun wrapper over battery to improve connection if battery moves.

First of all, you need to use alkaline batteries with you camera, if you use mercury ones they wont last long.

Why are the batteries dying so quickly in my Kodak 12MP?

It depends, if you are using regular Alkaline batteries, those are known to go dead really fast. Better if you try some rechargeable batteries with a rating of at least 2100mAh, anything smaller than that will drain just as quick as Alkalines.

Camera not functioning

Sometimes these batteries go dead but still show a charge in the camera but it is not enough to do anything with. I suggest you go to the nearest camera shop and see if they can check it for you.

Battery won't hold a charge

Buying recharable batteries will not solve the problem of the battery draining quickly but will help save $ by not having to purchase so many disposable batteries. Check your user guide to see what kind of batteries your camera will accept. Lithium ion rechargeable is the best if compatible. Lithium ion disposible (CRV3) will last a long time as a secondary choice if compatible. Some cameras drain batteries more quickly than others. Just a tip to help reduce the drain: don't use your LCD screen when unnecessary (such as scrolling through several of your pics in-between snapping pics).

My Lumix TZ1 stopped working

Simple solution. I recharged the camera battery and the camera came back to life. I wasn't expecting it to, because the battery was fully charged when I had connected it to the computer, so I figured the problem was not battery-related. Apparently keeping the camera connected to the computer for such a long time drains all the power in the camera battery.
