5 for both freezer and fresh food side. This corresponds to about 37 degrees in fresh food side and 0 - 5 degrees in freezer. Check for blocked vents from and to the fresh food side and return to freezer. Most problems occur because these vents are blocked and/or overstuffing of freezer and fresh food side. The air has to have room to circulate. Another thing to check is if the condensing coils are dirty. Normal access to the condensing coils if yours has one is inside the cardboard cover on the lower back side of the your refrigerator.
Hope this helps

Frig side by side model glrs267zcq1 freezer cool but not frozen no ice

Hello friend, thanks for your post!
I see your Frigidaire refrigerator is not freezing in the freezer section but keeping your fresh food side cool. Some possibilities could be your refrigerator stuck in defrost mode, the control panel, or sealed system. I would recommend performing a reset on your appliance which would be flipping your household circuit breaker off for ten minutes. If that does not resolve your issue I would seek assistance from a professional to properly diagnose and repair your appliance. -Matt

Fans running and lights on but no cold or cool air? Is your model the KSRP22FSMS00 listed above your post? Here is a parts manual for your model here=> KSRP22FSMS00.pdf (1761.50 KB) Here is Adobe Reader if your computer does not already have Adobe=> Get Adobe Acrobat Reader Are you able to unplug and your refrigerator remove the back cover that has the access to the compressor? I need to know if the top of the compressor is so hot you cannot keep your hand on its top. This tells me if too hot that the compressor is trying to start and may need start relay and overload. Some models also have run capacitors. If no problems there then this may point to the-> 2304009 Main Control Board

When you say the refrigerator is not cooling are you saying only the fresh food section is not cooling but freezer is cooling? Answer these questions and I believe we can find the reason your model is not cooling. First look around the fresh food section door frame for the correct model number, Thanks Sea Breeze

I have A Subzero 690 and the water no longer comes out as cold

the water container is located on the fresh food side. This is how your water is cooled. I would get a Temp Gauge and put it in the fresh food side to see if the temp is correct.

Will freezer side work if frig side is out

The freezer will appear to still work for awhile after the fresh food side fail to maintain a cool temp, you will need to remove the back in the freezer section and see if the fan motor is turning, if the fan motor is not turning you willl need to replace the fan motor and this will correct the problem and allow cool air to circulate to the fresh food section and cool the fresh food side of the refrigerator

My freezer is working fine but by refrigerator is not working. how can that be with a maytag side by side?

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Subzero model 532 fridge not cooling well, freezer ok

Did u check condenser on the top behind the grill? If it's clean, check unit for evaporator freon leaking. Light....Possibly bad bulbs behind that plastic light cover or light switch - one of them located on upper portion of door frame.

Coils keep freezing up its 4 years old

Iced-over evaporator coils, accompanied by a non-chilled fresh food compartment, happened in my GE side-by-side (model GSS20IEMDWW). For me, the problem was caused by a faulty temp sensor in the fresh food side. That sensor never signalled the computer that the temp in the fresh food side was cool enough, so the compressor ran constantly.

Since the compressor was running constantly, the evaporator coils (back wall of the freezer compartment) eventually iced over (took about a week). Since the fan that draws air over the evaporator coils could no longer move any air (due to the icing), the temperature in the fresh food side got warmer as well.

The fresh food side is chilled through a hole with a motorized door at the top of the dividing wall between compartments which opens when the fresh food side needs cooling. If no air is moving in the freezer compartment, temps in the fresh food compartment climb.

I replaced the temp sensor in the fresh food side and solved the problem for a while.

I bough a pair of thermometers at a kitchen store and put one in the freezer compartment and one in the fresh food compartment so that I could occasionally check to see if it made sense for the compressor to be running (ie, was it really necessary to be trying to cool either compartment, or were they already cold enough).

About six months later I had the coil icing problem again. This time the fresh food side seemed cool enough (according to the thermometer as well as the fact that the flapper door would close, indicating that the computer knew to not try to additionally cool the fresh food side).

The thermometer indicated that the temp in the freezer compartment was cold enough, but the system computer continued to run the compressor. So I replaced both temp sensors in the freezer compartment - which solved the problem again. (My fridge is about seven years old.)

If you are going to replace any of the temp sensors, replace them all under the principle of "if one failed, the rest will soon fail too".

Use a website like to look up a parts diagram for your fridge and see if you can order just the temp sensors. Other websites ( and may also be helpful. I have no affiliation with any of the sites I just mentioned - I'm just posting them as resources.
