Hi Tech, The problem is the Digital seems to be frozen..When you switch on the tv Digital TV comes up on the screen for 5 seconds..if i press vol -or+ vol menu comes up on the screen no other function works No picture or sound just a blank screen..My next step was to replace the Digital Board from a broken screen plasma same model(this is the board with the tuner on it)and now the tv works fine..so this fault is on the digital board so this is down to a faulty cconponent on this board..i understand this is now a common fault on a lot of philips plasmas and lcd TVs..Digital blocked or locked..i would like to know the fault that causes this rather changing the Digithal board every time as this can be expensive Thanks Regards Margaret

If the unit is only 8 months old, it should still be under warranty. don't waste your time. Return it for warranty service.

    Margaret,

Without seeing the module directly, I can't tell you the problem with it. If you can post a way I can contact you perhaps I can get the module and resolve the particular problem. Finding the underlying cause might prove to be usefull for others.

    Let me know,

    Dan

Is this a brand new TV or it worked before?
Do you have any other devices connected to the TV? such as:
DVD player, cable TV, satellite TV or OFF the air channels
Try pressing the TV button on your remote and see if that brings the video back on your TV.

If your TV is 8 months old still cover under manufacturers warranty. I would suggest to call philips and ask them for the nearest authorized service center to repair your plasma.

Is this a new tv or a new problem on an existing tv? Try unplugging it for overnight to reset it to default settings and see if the problem persists.

See the manual for your unit here.

It appears that you are trying to access an option that is not available.
