Question about Audio Players & Recorders
My problem is that I cannot get the sound from my just purchased SONY LCD television using my Pioneer Model XV HTD520 DVD Player with Surround Sound S HTD520. I have hooked sound cables (Red/White) to "Sound out" from TV to the AUX "sound in" on back of Pioneer unit (next to the TV connection). Currently, my set-up is using an antenna that goes into my VCR with the outgoing cable plugging into the antenna slot on the TV. The Pioneer DVD player is all plugged into the DVD input on the TV using the S cable and yellow cable along with the red and white sound plugged into the Sound jacks TV/DVD. The DVD player provides surround sound when it is playing. However, the TV alone does not. (Yes, I switched mode on remote to TV.) Also, I have gone though all of the possible setups on the TV. My gut tells me something is wrong with the cable/jack combinations since all of this worked well with my previous TV.
While I could not find it in the manual, I found that you must
go to the menu, open Sound Options and set Speakers to "Fixed".
Note: If you turn off the Surround Sound or DVD player combination you must then go back to the menu and turn the speakers back to Televsion.
