    Can you give the brand and model number of the camera and what operating system you are using? Windows XP, WIndows Vista, Windows 7?

Before connecting the camera you need to download and install camera software. Go to the manufacturer website and download camera software. Keep camera disconnected untill asked by driver setup program.

install your driver for webcam. check it into http://support.asus.com
choose for your laptop ASUS A3H
and choose your driver webcam
download it
install it
restart it
and you can see your webcam will be work. open your windows explorer and see that bottom line "USB Video"
