    Dear Ayamaya,

    Thanks again,

I think I have found the proble, but I can't solve it, my router IP has been changed to a automatic private IP address by it's former user(my firend) . now I can't access to that page, nither to 192.168.2.1

My cable modem can't obtain the IP of modem, so I don't have internet conncetion in my router after making that cycle.

    I don't know what to do. :(

If the installation cd is getting an error message, it's better to manually configure it.

since you are using a cable internet, you can start by doing a power cycle. turn off all the devices first. then turn on the modem, wait for the lights on the modem to power on. then turn on the router, then the computer

if power cycle will not give you internet access. follow the steps below.

- access your router's setup page. open a web browser and type http://192.168.2.1. by default there's no password
- you would be prompted with the setup screen, go to connection type under internet wan
- follow the instruction or if you have the option, just set it to automatic configuration-dhcp, then clone the mac address
- after that, click on home, internet status should be set to connected

hope this'll help you and just ask me if you have other concern

ciao!

you don't need to have internet connection to access http://192.168.2.1 since it's the address of your router adn it's internal to your router. it could be that your computer is not getting a valid ip address or the router's ip address was changed into something else when you run the cd. when accessing the router's page, the computer should be directly connected to the router not to the modem ( i assumed that the computer is already connected to the router when i gave you the instructions above).

if you would still like to try configuring it. you need to reset the router first for a fresh start. locate a button on the router that will say reset and press it for like 30 sec then perform a power cycle.

one more thing, you need to have internet connection first from your cable modem in order for the router to work.

    hope this helps.

    ciao!

Belkin Router Connection Issue

well.. if you have a laptop, or a pc, you better have in those a wifi modem built in your computer.. most of the laptops now have those things already integrated, and PCs.. well, youll have to buy a PCI card to suit you better... if you dont, youll need to buy a wifi modem...

then, if you used to have your internet connection through wire to your computer, youll have to unplug that and plug it into your belkin router...

then, if you have the wifi modem in your computer, there will be an icon in the task bar (where the clock is) where you can see all wireless conections..
find yours and you are done..
if you need more help, dont hesitate to ask.. ill be alert..

How do I find out the security key for belkin router?

if you want to remove security key, just reset the router by pressing the hole or reset button and then type in brower 192.168.1.1 and access in your router.then you can assign new security if you want or leave without security. just connect your computer by hard wire and by same wire other end of this wire will connect to router. don't need to do anythig. computer n router knows best everything else what to do.

Modem router light blinking (no wireless connection) F5D8631-4

Try restoring the Belkin back to the factory default by powering up the Belkin and pressing the RESET button on the back of the Belkin for 7 secs. Then connect a LAN cable from the computer to the Belkin, open IE browser and type the configuration IP address and configure the wireless settings ie. SSID, encryption etc. The computer wireless cards will need to be configured with the Belkin wireless settings to allow them to communicate with the Belkin.

BelkinMIMO wireless router stopped connecting to internet

I just installed a Belkin N1 (model F5D8635-4 v1000) to a Comcast Arris modem in SW Florida by resetting the IP on the router to 192.168.1.1 Comcast assigns 198.168.0.1 (but will accept 192.168.1.1 however not .2.1) and Belkin default is 192.168.2.1. Problem is easy enough to correct by following the instructions for changing the default router IP using a Firefox interface as documented in the user's manual. Note that when applying changes it takes about 30 seconds for changes to be effective.

Belkin Wireless G Router causes loss of internet connection

Does your router have one LED lamp for each "wired" port?
If so, does unplugging the Ethernet-cable (the one that connects to your desktop PC) cause the lamp to go off?
Does reconnecting that cable cause the lamp to go on?

Also, on your desktop computer, there could be a lamp right beside where the Ethernet-cable connects into your computer.
Again, disconnect the cable, and reconnect the cable, to see if that lamp goes off/on.

Have you tried a different cable?

Do *NOT* connect your desktop computer to the 'WAN' port on the router -- connect it to any of the "LAN" ports.

Wireless Router use with Wildblue Satelite Modem

You should be aware of a class action lawsuit that Belkin and the complaintent settled recently. The lawsuit was filed complaining that certain Belkin routers did not obtain optimal speeds as advertised.
Belkin has agreed to provide affected customers a discount program to purchase a new router. You will need to search elsewheres for the details.
