Question about Dell OptiPlex GX260 PC Desktop
I bought a used Dell OptiPlex GX260 that was missing a Hard Drive, I tried to install a Western Digital and even a Maxtor HD and the system simply does not see either, I have set the jumper setting to either Master or Master with slave on both and still the computer cant see either.
All its doing is booting up and saying does not read slave or master.
If the CD rom would run I might be able to run a diagnostic program on it .
Thanks in advance for assistance
Did you change the cable that went to the hard drive, and is it the correct type? (ie ATA 133)

Use separate cable for both the hard drive.
Make master to the one which is bootable, restart your system and just check bios setting whether both the hard disk are detected or not..also under boot device check first boot drive is hard drive which is master and bootable..
