I have a 320gb hard drive for my Xbox and when it is inserted it doesn't show on the dashboard for memory devises

In this process your hard drive will be formatted, so back up all files to another hard drive, laptop, or be prepared to lose everything on your hard drive. After you have backed everything up, plug your hard drive into an Xbox 360 then go 'My Xbox/System Settings/Memory.Select 'USB Storage Device/Configure Now' then accept the warning. After the formatting is complete a Performance Warning box will appear, click 'OK.' Now in the 'Storage Devices' screen you should see a new option 'Memory Unit.' This shows that the formatting was successful. Disconnect your hard drive, then connect it to your laptop, load on some media (makes sure the file types are compatible), then reconnect it to your Xbox 360. Your selected media should not appear under 'Portable Device' in the Video/Music/Picture Library.

Xbox help for "Can read CD but NOT DVD."

Step 1: Inspect and clean your disc Take a close look at the bottom side of your game, movie, or music disc (the side without a label or image). Are there scratches? Excessive scratches or smudges can prevent your console from reading the disc. Clean your disc 1. Hold the disc by the edges without touching the top or bottom surfaces. 2. Using a soft, clean, slightly damp cloth, lightly wipe from the center of the disc outward. Note Do not use solvents to clean the disc. 3. Once the disc is clean, load the disc into your console and see if the disc plays. If the disc still does not play, try step 2. Step 2: Try other discs Try other discs to determine whether the problem happens with any disc or only with this particular disc. If multiple game discs, DVDs, or CDs will not play: 1. Make sure the media type and the disc region code are compatible with the console. 2. If the problem happens with several discs of different types (games, DVDs, and CDs), skip to “Step 7: Request a repair” below. If a specific game disc will not play: 1. Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base to determine if the game title has any known problems. 2. Make sure the media type and the disc region code are compatible with the console. If the disc you are using has a region code that is compatible with your console but you still cannot play the disc, try step 3. Step 3: Clear your system cache If your Xbox 360 console can’t play multiple game discs, try clearing your system cache. Here’s how: 1. On the console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings. 2. Select Memory. 3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller. 4. Select Clear System Cache.
Note If Clear System Cache is not available, use the button sequence described in the following article: 971755 How to clear the Xbox 360 console cache 5. Try to play a game disc. If you still can’t play a game disc, try step 4. Step 4: Remove the hard drive If the problem only happens with game discs, let’s try temporarily removing your hard drive. If your Xbox 360 console does not have a hard drive, skip to step 5. 1. Turn off your console. 2. Locate the hard drive on your console. 3. Press the release button on the hard drive and lift the hard drive from the console. 4. Turn on your console. 5. Try to play a game disc.If this step resolves the problem, reattach the hard drive and contact Xbox support to order a replacement hard drive. If this step resolves the problem, reattach the hard drive and contact Xbox support to order a replacement hard drive. If you still can’t play game discs, try step 5. Step 5: Disconnect memory units 1. Turn off your console. 2. Unplug any memory units attached to your console. 3. Turn on your console. 4. Try playing a game. If this step resolves the problem, reattach the memory units and contact Xbox support to order a replacement memory unit.

My xbox Your Shape 2011 game isnt saving any progress any more

Hello,
This is acually a common problem for that game. The only suggestion I would take is to reload the game saves on your XBOX. To do this, you go to Settings-System-Storage-All Devices-Games and Apps-You Shape (press Y on the game instead of A)-Delete. Then, go back to the main menu and load up the game. It may take longer to load due to the original save file being deleted, but it will then record your save file. If you followed those suggestions and it still doesn't save, you may want to contact XBOX for troubleshooting ideas or Ubisoft.

Hope that helps. Good luck!!!

What can i do if the middle of the game disc cracks

The game may be unreadable and no longer playable. There is somthing you can try thou. After you put in the game, select the "Install to hard drive" optionhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN2og3MIUe0 <-- HowTo
after you install the game to your hard drive it may work due to the fact that the game CD is only needed to validate the game. If you can't install the game to your hard drive, see if a friend will load you the game to install onto your own hard drive then use your broken disc to "validate" the game running.

I have a game that doesn't play and I've cleaned it with a home held machine dozens of times, not a store machine just to not get mixed up. It does several scratches though. Please send info as...

what you wanna do is get a friend who had the same game as you, then save his game to your xbox 360 hard drive then you can insert your game and play the game on the broken disk, hope this helped

When I play 4x4 evo 2 on my xbox 360 it will not save or load

Rob B is totally wrong, it has nothing to do with your 360 over heating or going to have the Red Ring Of Death. I am having the same problem too. Some of the old xbox games are compatible with 360 but some have bugs that do in some case render them unable to play to optimal performance. Try switching your display settings, I have one game that won't play at all unless my display is at 480p

Games on hard drive

Hi, is the xbox modified or is a retail version of your xbox. Retail Xbox's cannot load games from it's hard drive. The games you must be seeing are the game save files in the memory menu. If it is modified and you cannot play and of the games, then it is going to require reinstalling. As for the dvd games, your xbox dvd drive will need replacing. Any xbox modifying outlet will be happy to change that for you. Just be aware that around a 50NZD will be most likely the charge.
