the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

ALL I KNOW IS ITS A DELL OPTIPLEX 960 AND I TRIED TO DO A REBOOT BY HITTING F2 AND THEN HOLDING ALT AND F AT THE SAME TIME.

Hi Tiffany,

it sounds like there has been some sort of corruption of the files on the hard disk. You should see about booting from the Windows installation CD / DVD and copying all the files that are of importance to you (documents, photos, music, etc.) on to an external hard drive connected to the USB port or installed as a slave drive internally. Once you have saved all the files you need, shut off the PC and disconnect / remove the drive with your files. Then reinstall Windows again. Once done, shut off the PC and reconnect the drive with your files and copy them back to the hard drive and you should be good to go unless he drive is beginning to fail - in which case purchasing a new hard drive would be a good idea.

I am trying to download the audio driver from support.dell.com for an Optiplex 780 running Windows 7, but I keep getting a '404 file not found' error. I've tried downloading alternatives from external...

Try this: Go to the support link again as you've done in the past. After you chose the audio driver you want to download, choose the "save to file" option instead of the "install or run" option. Be sure to write down the EXACT path where it is going to be saved so you can locate it.
Then, open control panel, system, hardware devices, and select your audio device. Right click the mouse, scroll to properties, left click, select update driver, and use the BROWSE option to get to where you saved the drivers and then the computer will do the rest...Remember, you must point the computer to the proper ".inf " file as that is where the driver is.

When I am on line for about twenty to thirty minutes, my monitor goes black and then eventually the computer shuts down, what causes this?? When I reboot, the computer stays on forever

Check for the following settings:
1. Power saving feature
2. Is the system configured for sleep or hibernate?
3. Try restoring the system back to factory defaults (backup the files you need to keep first)

Note: Try to include the following information every time you request for support for your computer:
1. Brand Name (Acer, Dell, HP, IBM etc.)
2. Operating System (XP, Vista, Linux, MacOS, etc.)
3. Any recent changes made (installations, updates, upgrades, etc)
4. Any error mesages?

Setup was unable to verify drive C:.

hi ;
this sems to be a memory problem;
in bios , try to decrease the memory for your card to resrve a memory space for the installation program,

if this does not work , it might be your VGA card.
