Makes coffee, but there will be a puddle of water underneath the unit when it is finished brewing. If I fill with water it leaks underneath too.

If the machine is losing water from lower side, then there is a leak from one of the internal hoses check the hose and connections for a leak.

One suggested remedy is to try using a funnel or measuring cup to carefully fill the reservoir water a few times (no drips outside of that rear right corner fill hole), just to check your accuracy. If it stops the leak, it's a simple fix (just keep using the funnel if you have shaky hands like mine when you fill it each evening. If your leak continues to take place, you may have a crack in the water reservoir somewhere.
Hope that helps........

It most likely can be repaired but where it is leaking will determine the ease of the repair. You will need to open it up and find the leak and basically order the part and replace. Easy as that. I'm sorry that I can't tell you outright what part needs to be replaced, but it needs to be opened to determine the exact part which I'm sorry that I can't do for you. Let me know of any questions or problems that you may run into and I will help where I can.

Does the water leak out before or after the brew? Can you leave water in it without starting a brew cycle, or does that leak as well?

This coffee maker (10 c maker with grinder) beeps it's done every few minutes with water left. we have to brew about 5 times for a full pot, what gives?

Presume this is the Grind & Brew Thermal™ 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker, Model # DGB-600BCC

An instruction booklet is available here: http://www.cuisinart.ca/pdf/ibs/en/DGB-600BCC_en.pdf

Review the sections beginning on page 11 of the pdf on Turning Off the Grind Function (if not using the grind feature) and Making Coffee.

Make sure you are turning off the grind function if using preground coffee and that the reservoir lid is securely closed.

Check the Cups Setting button; is sounds like the 1-4 feature may be turned on.

We have a Cuisinart DGB-900 BC Grind and Brew Thermal Coffeemaker. Our Problem is that the bean grinder has stopped working. We purchased the coffee maker on 2/25/10. Prior to this happening, we were...

try cleaning the grind chute again. if problem persists:
this is a cronic problem with the DGB900BC even after cleaning. the problem is the gate or trap to the grounds needs to open/remain open during grinding or all backs up and jams. my unit opens the door (correctly) during the rotation but closes just before grinding (over-rotation?). Cuisinart is not aware of this problem (800-726-0190). please call them; i just have.

I cannot remove the grinder from my cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffeemaker. It still makes great coffee, but I want to clean the grinding mechasim and cannot remove it.

Common with the DGB-600 - you can try icing it down for 10 minutes - once removed, clean exterior with vinegar applied to a rag to get oils off - endemic to this unit - replacing it with exact same model will not help.

Leaking coffeemaker

Water leaking in the DGB-600 is mainly caused by heated water escaping from its proper path. There is a rubber grommet on the underside of the upper part of the coffeemaker. (It contacts the lid over the filter basket when the front door is closed.) The design in this area is very poor; the grommet does not seat properly in the fixed part of the coffeemaker, and heated water seeps out. Also, the heated water tube that comes up through the cold water reservoir is actually in 2 pieces. One goes inside of the other, but there is no seal. It is a loose enough fit that some steam escapes, condenses on the inside top surface of the coffeemaker, and then finds its way down to add to the leaking. I completely disassembled my coffeemaker (3 of the screws in the upper compartment are hidden under small circular plugs that look like they are part of the plastic surface), and used high temperature automotive RTV sealer to help the rubber grommet seal better, and to seal the 2-piece hot water tube. Works great now! But I must say that I have seen better engineering in childs' toys!
