I want to add a lens to take better close ups from far away. What would be the product number?

If you want to take close-ups, you want the DMW-LC55 (and the DMW-LA1 adapter).

If you want to take pictures from farther away, you don't need any additional gear. Just get farther away from the subject then take the picture.

I like to get up close pics of objects especially plants and scenery. The problem is when I zoom in the picture is always blurry and cannot focus on objects that are not far away. Is there anyway setting...

most cameras come with an option called macro, this setting is for close up shots.on your camera it needs to set at wide angle.when choosing the shooting mode move left or right and choose the icon of a flower.if you adjust the zoom, a zoom bar will appear at the top of the lcd.if you try to use a zoom not intended for macro shots the flower icon will gray out and the bar will appear yellow,if you take a picture with the yellow bar it will be blurry.if you zoom out a little until it stops you should be ok. if you use a flash in macro mode the images edges usually will darken.hope this helps.

Lines on screen and photos, too bright photos outside

Lines across your pictures or pictures too bright are due to the shutter not closing correctly or at all.
to check this- turn camera on, turn off flash, turn camera around and look into the lens. Adjust the zoom so that the shutter and internal lens comes up to the end of the lens and whatch as you take a picture. You should see the shutter close completely over the lens. If it doesn't move or does not close over completely then there is your problem.
If camera was dropped it could have jammed the shutter open or obstructed it in some way from closing completely.
camera will require repair/ service.
You may have some luck if you power up and down your camera numerous times before taking a picture. The action of the lens opening and closing may free the shutter.

Focus,

When operating any digital camera, the camera tries to capture the best focus and exposure for that particular scene. By pressing the shutter button half-way down, the focus and exposure is being set. There will be a green circle on the upper left hand corner of the screen, then your camera is ready to take the picture. Slowly depress the shutter the rest of the way down to take the picture.

Picture comes up with horizontal lines

The viewfinder is failing, or it may be a bad flexiboard, or ribbon assy. The proof is that the pictures look okay, but the viewing is not proper.

If you want it serviced, you will have to send the camera to the Sony authorized service rep. They will be able to change the necessary parts and re-adjust as required.

Dark picture taking on stage

You need to run it with aperture priority, and have the aperture as wide open as possible (The lower the number the better). You've got the kit lens, which is a notoriously poor performer in low light conditions, you should consider getting one of the Sigma DG lenses.

The other alternative is to get as close up to the stage as possible, and use the smaller lens that would have come with the camera kit. It's a little faster.

It became blurry

Are you using the auto function on the disc on top? If you are not it may be that your lens is open for too long.

I often get the same problem when using any other option as I'm not a pro, and when I zoom in very close on something far away.
